Workshop facilitator Mike Tompkins, CCS, president of Coffee Products Associates, will teach attendees how to prepare a perfect cup of coffee by showing them how to use the correct coffee-to-water ratio to match the particle size of the coffee, different brewing methods and equipment types. An 18-year veteran of the coffee industry, Mike’s expertise, passion for coffee and enthusiasm for teaching about coffee has been evident ever since he helped develop the first QCCP in 2000, and began teaching the course.
In discussing the popular program Gilland said, “After completing this session, attendees will be able to quickly assess and solve common problems associated with the final product—the taste of coffee. In addition, we will also teach them how to sell quality and not price. Sales staff, sales managers, customer service staff, service technicians and route drivers can all profit from learning how to prepare an exceptional cup of coffee,” added Gilland. Expanding on NAMA’s previous Coffee Summits, this new event will be the best of its kind featuring expanded education sessions, dozens more table top exhibits, and excellent networking opportunities. An inspiring keynote speaker, Henry Givray, president and CEO of Smith Bucklin, will deliver the “The Passion of Leadership,” sharing his powerful thoughts on the difference between true leadership and management.
