VIEW SLASHES BROADBAND JUKEBOX
HARDWARE PRICES WITH NEW JUKEBOOST UPGRADE KIT
Sharply Reduced Costs, Quality
Components and Ease of Installation Put Increased Revenues from
Digital-Downloading Jukeboxes within Reach
San Francisco –
The capital investment required for amusement route operators to increase their weekly net income
with Ecast-powered broadband jukeboxes just went down by more than 70 percent, thanks to a new CD to
broadband jukebox conversion kit unveiled at Amusement ShowcaseInternational in Chicago
The new JukeBoost conversion kit -
the first product of its kind to be designed by operators, for operators- is manufactured by San Leandro,
California-based View Interactive Entertainment Corporation, a privately-owned concern under the
leadership of amusement operator Rick Caviglia. Prior to founding View, Caviglia became known in the
coin-op trade for pioneering, selling and supporting over 10,000 patent -protected Mars Bill Acceptor
Upgrade Kits, which became popular with operators as alternatives to the high-failure rate,
factory-installed bill acceptors common in CD jukebox models.
"JukeBoost is ideal for
operators looking to derive new money from their route by breathing new life
into their older equipment,” said
Caviglia. “We consulted the operator community and used our own experience as jukebox operators to
design this product to address the real world concerns of end users. Unbeatable ROI, ease of installation
and service, quality components and affordable replacement parts are all in place for the first time
ever. We would not be surprised to see the shift from CD to broadband accelerate dramatically.”
In the JukeBoost pilot locations
average gross jukebox revenues have more than tripled the previous CD jukebox earnings. A JukeBoost unit
with the earnings of an average Ecast-powered jukebox can deliver positive cash flow in the first week
and a return on investment in as few as 7 months.
Since a JukeBoost kit can be
installed in less than 2 hours, it is affordable and easy for operators to convert their existing CD juke
routes into Ecast broadband-enabled, digital-downloading models that can access more than 200,000 songs via
the Internet. The increased listening choices available to customers translate into increased revenues
for operators, since broadband-enabled jukes can deliver on a wider variety of music preferences. Ecast
makes nearly 2,000 additional new songs available on every Ecastpowered jukebox each week.
“I found the JukeBoost kit to be
complete and substantial. It is so serviceable and user friendly that our installation was seamless – it took
less than 90 minutes”, said fellow operator John Guthrie of G&G Amusements. “The end JukeBoost
product is so aesthetically pleasing that it looks like a brand new factory-built jukebox. This is a
dramatic, inexpensive improvement for any CD jukebox and a great way to bring broadband downloading
jukeboxes to more locations.”
Caviglia has transferred his years
of experience operating and maintaining jukeboxes into an easy to install conversion kit that features
only top-quality, high-performance electronic and mechanical components. JukeBoost kits, which
can be used to upgrade Rowe series 100 A/B, C/D, E, and Second Generation Wallmount CD jukebox
models, is comprised of a core computer featuring an Intel Celeron 1.2 GHz microchip running Microsoft
Windows Embedded XP with a 40 GB hard drive and an industrial grade mounting and cooling
apparatus. The kits also includes a 15-inch Elotouch touch screen monitor with cables, easy-to-follow
instructions and a contemporary backlit adhesive graphics package with a fresh new look.
JukeBoost includes all the necessary
components to hook up converted CD jukes to the Ecast Location- Based Broadband Entertainment
Network TM , which provides a continuous feed
of digital music ondemand to more than 3000 jukeboxes
nationwide.
“By increasing revenue and
decreasing costs, JukeBoost makes it possible for operators to expand their number of Ecast-powered jukeboxes or
even convert their entire route to broadband-enabled jukeboxes,” said Robbie Vann-Adibe, CEO of
Ecast, Inc., “With the average jukebox grossing roughly $100 a week, and the average Ecast jukebox
grossing roughly $250 plus per week, JukeBoost gives operators a way to increase their weekly net income for
a significantly reduced upfront investment.”
