Workhorse Custom
Chassis provides an integrated, total truck solution to a variety of
medium-duty truck needs, merging body and chassis manufacturing into one easy
ordering process with industry-leading delivery times.
The quality,
customized walk-in truck provided by Workhorse enhances the classic walk-in
advantages of ergonomically efficient accessibility, aluminum-panel longevity
and ample cargo space, resulting in a significant cost savings over the life of
the vehicle. Customized body options for vending operators include interior
shelving packages, extra height and width cargo area, and back-up alarms.
Last year Workhorse
expanded on its integrated truck solution with its QuickSpex program for
specific vocations. Vending operators are referred to QuickSpex options for
baking and snack food delivery that include body lengths of 16 and 18 feet,
GVWRs of 10,000 and 14,100 lbs., and different interior racking choices.
If vending
operators want to customize trucks themselves, QuickSpex also facilitates
ordering walk-ins without a particular cargo
upfit through Workhorse’s FasTrack
program. These vehicles range from 10 foot 6 inches to 18 feet in length and
from 10,000 to 14,100 lb. GVWR.
“The
QuickSpex order form offers one or two options for the body and chassis that
are commonly used by other fleets in the particular vocation. Then there’s
a simple checklist of appropriate accessories and options,” said Shane
Terblanche, director of sales engineering. What has often been a time-consuming
process of matching the right chassis with the right body, then with the right
racking and other options, has been condensed into a simple checklist by
Workhorse.
An easy way to customize
Before QuickSpex,
dealers with particular knowledge about particular vocations may have been able
to better facilitate this process for some fleets. But now QuickSpex does that
work for them, allowing every dealer and fleet manager to expertly spec a
walk-in in a broad range of vocations that rely on the cost-effectiveness of
walk-in trucks. This makes it easier for vending operators to obtain the right
truck for their work.
“We’ve
found that assistance with the ordering and spec’ing process to be a
critical customer concern,” said Terblanche. “Increasingly, fleets of
all sizes are relying on truck manufacturers to know what’s best for their
business. QuickSpex puts our expertise to work for them in a convenient
way.”
“On our end,
it means we can stock more standard configurations and integrate manufacturing
efficiencies into the process for a quicker order cycle. It’s a big change
from how walk-in trucks have traditionally been ordered, built and delivered.
Walk-ins are tremendously cost-effective, particularly as delivery vehicles,
but they haven’t always been easy to obtain. This is what we’re
changing,” concluded Terblanche. “Vending companies, in particular,
can derive exceptional benefits from both this truck and this ordering
process.”
QuickSpex is the
next step in the revolution in walk-in manufacturing that Workhorse began with
the launch of its FasTrack program in 2000, enabling it to provide completely
integrated walk-in trucks in a one-order process with one warranty. FasTrack
models are delivered in six weeks (compared to the industry standard of 14
weeks) and all walk-in models built on Workhorse chassis receive free emergency
roadside assistance during the warranty period.
Extensive
range options and excellent service support
Along with its
truck-ordering innovations, Workhorse is a leader in walk-in trucks because of
the extensive range of quality choices it provides. Workhorse offers
gasoline-powered walk-in trucks with GVWRs from 10,000 to 19,500 lbs. It also
provides diesel trucks (which include the latest turbocharged ISB4 Cummins
engine) in the 10,000 to 14,100 lb. GVWR range. Wheelbases run from 125 to 208
inches for gasoline trucks and 110 to 178 inches for diesel trucks. Cargo body
lengths extend from 10 foot six inches to 22 feet.
Workhorse truck
bodies are ruggedly constructed to work hard and maintain a long-lasting
professional appearance. The Workhorse walk-in body frame features 24-inch
centered studs from floor to roof, while its aluminum panels are coated with
Dupont Imron™ 5000 paint.
Workhorse is ISO
9001 certified and supports its customers with a continent-wide network of 460
service centers and is the only truck company that provides free, 24-hour
emergency roadside assistance for 3 years or 36,000 miles.
