South Barrington, IL- Don Hesch of A.H. Entertainers, Rolling Meadows, IL was recognized for 18 years of service with the Amusement & Music Operators Association (AMOA) during its annual meeting October 1.
Don, who is leaving the Past President's Council after serving 6 years, received a plaque featuring a carved likeness of himself during the breakfast meeting at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Don was scheduled to retire from his Past President's position in September 2003. His term was extended in March 2003 when then President Rich Holley died in office. Don agreed to fill the position of 1st Vice President for six months and then to continue on the Past President's Council for an additional year.
In recognizing “Don's legacy,” outgoing President Chris Warren joked he “had tried to change the (AMOA) by-laws to keep (Don) on the board.” Don's efforts to bring AMOA back from the brink of financial disaster during his term as President were acknowledged by Chris in his presentation.
Don himself thanked several of his colleagues on the Past President's Council for their efforts in changing a struggling Association to the active and vibrant organization it is today.
Earlier in the week, Don was recognized at the AMOA Board of Directors meeting.
