Smoking bans continue to spread across the nation. While many states have not or will not consider statewide bans, the number of municipalities with bans continues to grow. To help states deal with these issues, AMOA has announced its “Coin-Op Initiative on Smoking Bans.” Led by Government Relations Chairman Gary Brewer, who explained the plan to the State Luncheon attendees, the sub-committee will explore the effects of smoking bans on the coin-op industry and seek possible solutions to mitigate the effects. The 7-member committee will include three AMOA Board of Directors members - Jeff Reed, Andy Shaffer and Phil Juckem and three others from areas where smoking bans have been defeated or eased by an organized effort.

AMOA also announced the dates and place of its 3-day Council of Affiliated States Meeting. The event will be held January 13-15, 2005 at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, FL.
