South Barrington, IL- Marion Paul is the new President of the Amusement & Music Operators Association (AMOA). Her term began at the conclusion of the Association's annual meeting October 1 in Las Vegas. AMOA is the trade association for coin-operated music and games.
Marion has been with AMOA since 1996 and has risen through the ranks from Board of Director member, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, 1st Vice President and now President. She will serve until September 2005.
Marion operates two arcades, Fannie Farkle's in Gatlinburg and Walkin' Charlie's in Daytona Beach, businesses she began with her late husband Don Paul. While not a traditional street operator, Marion, in her address to membership, noted she shares many of the challenges operators with street routes face - selecting the right equipment, finding and retaining good employees and other business issues.
Marion has chosen collaboration as her theme for the year...seeking better relationships with the American Amusement Machine Association (the manufacturer's trade association), AMOA's affiliated state associations and, of course, the AMOA Board of Directors and its more than 1,750 members.
“With honest and open communication, nothing is impossible,” Marion told the approximately 200 members present at the Membership meeting.
