American Amusement Machine Charitable Foundation (AAMCF)AAMCF PUTS THE “FUN” IN FUNDRAISING
In 2005, the American Amusement Machine Charitable Foundation (AAMCF), kicked off its fundraising
season with their annual wreath fundraiser, and ended on a huge note with various events that took place at this year's Amusement Showcase International (ASI).
Both the AAMCF silent auction and “BIG” raffle were once again held at this year's show. In 2005, the silent auction celebrated its 10th anniversary, and we are happy to report that it raised over $17,000.00! The auction consisted of over 95 items that were kind-heartedly donated by 50 AAMA members. Thank you!
The AAMCF “BIG” raffle also did incredibly well. This year's raffle raised more money than it has ever done in prior years. One reason for this success is the fact that the AAMCF had a total of four amazing prizes rather than the usual three. Congratulations to our winners. Mr. David Stegman, of Replay Amusements, walked away with Namco America's 3-in-1 Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., and Mario Brothers home version video game. Mr. Fred R. Wood is now the proud owner of Merit's MegaTouch e.V.o. AMOA's very own Nancy Gigac, shrieked when her name was drawn for the 52” TV, donated by Sega Amusements U.S.A., Inc. And last but not least, Coastal Amusement's Sal Mirando was the lucky winner of the StarGlo Rowe Jukebox. However, in an incredibly generous act, Mr. Mirando donated the jukebox back to the charitable foundation! This benevolent gesture also attributed to the success of this year's raffle. Thank you Sal! The AAMCF “BIG” raffle raised over $13,500.00!
Finally, we all know how unpredictable the weather can be in the Windy City, therefore, the AAMCF's annual charity golf outing could not be held this year. In its place, came the first ever AAMCF Texas Hold'em Round Up. There were approximately 70 players ready to battle it out for the grand prize of a $2,000.00 gift certificate to Best Buy. A special thank you to JVL for sponsoring the grand prize. The event was a great success as far as the players were concerned. Many asked when the next round up would be held. The game became heated and emotional but at the end it was all in good fun and for charity. The AAMCF would like to thank our sponsors of the event. Without your support the event couldn't have been possible. Thank you to AAMA, AMOA, BMI Gaming, Cadillac Jack/Lazer-Tron, Fannie Farkles, Firestone Financial Corp., Grand Products, Happ Controls, ICE, SEGA Amusements USA, Inc., Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, Tsunami Visual and W.T. Glasgow, Inc. Congratulations to the seven lucky winners.
All in all the AAMCF raised over $35,000.00 for three worthwhile children's charities. The AAMCF will present it's donations to the Children's Miracle Network (CMN), Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (K.E.E.N.) and UNICEF at the AAMA annual meeting; which will be held at the Allerton Crown Plaza in Chicago, July 20-22. |
