American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA)AAMA PREPARES FOR LONG TERM COIN-OP KATRINA RELIEF EFFORTSThe American Amusement Machine Charitable Foundation (AAMCF) held an emergency conference call on Friday, September 2, to discuss what the organization could do to help those in dire need of assistance from the devastating blow of Hurricane Katrina. The Board understands that a crisis of this magnitude will take years to recover all losses, and a simple one-time donation to organized national charities, while making a difference now, will not suffice and we plan to go beyond that realm. We would like to inform the coin-op industry, that both the AAMCF and AAMA organizations are working together on a long range plan we feel will benefit the industry on a larger scale. More information will come as the plan unfolds. Our hearts and prayers go out to all those who have lost so much. Such devastation is incomprehensible and at a time like this, we must come together as a people and as an industry to do all we can for those who are suffering from Katrina and her aftermath. Current information on industry colleagues who have been affected by this unprecedented disaster can be found on AAMA's website www.coin-op.org under Coin-Op Katrina Relief Efforts Top News. |
