AAMA American Amusement Machine Association

YOU HAD TO BE THERE

On behalf of the AAMA, we'd like to thank everyone for taking the time out of their busy summer-time schedules and offering their voluntary services to benefit our industry.

A Toast, Jon W. Brady - Brady Distributing Company
AAMA CHAIRPERSON

The AAMA annual meeting kicked off its weekend with brainstorming sessions that included industry promotion efforts, membership benefits, government related issues, foreign business development and new charitable events.

There was a discussion on the possibility of bringing in a marketing firm to assist in promoting the coin-op industry on a larger scale. The IP committee also discussed extending the ever-so-popular location trade show program on an international level by include foreign shows in the program.

After business was concluded for the day; the AAMA played host to over 80 guests for an irresistible family-style Italian feast held at Sergio's.

The dinner also included our guest of honor, Jerry Marcus and his family, in recognition of his Lifetime Achievement Award. The event honoring Jerry for his contributions to the industry, quickly turned into a roast led by Ken Anderson of Bugeye and numerous other entertaining speakers.

Thursday morning began with the Amusement Showcase International (ASI) show committee meeting to discuss plans for the 2007 show as well as location for the 2008 event.

Included in this discussion for 2007, was the announcement that the AAMCF will once again hold a charity golf outing in Vegas to raise funds for K.E.E.N. and the Children's Miracle Network. The golf outing is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, March nth (location TBA).

After the ASI committee meeting adjourned the AAMA PAC golf outing began with a scorcher of a day for our die-hard golfers.

For non-golfer guests, the Arlington Park Race Track was the perfect setting to place your bets and take in one of the nations most beautiful parks.

Friday morning, AAMA members rose to attend the AAMA Member and Board of Directors meeting for a re-cap of the committee meetings as well as member issues.

Both the AAMA and AAMCF Board elections came to a close and the new leaders for both Boards were announced.

All-in-all the consensus was that the event was held at the perfect facility for such meetings and more importantly the gala itself. Many expressed a desire to return for 2007.

On behalf of the AAMA, we'd like to thank everyone for taking the time out of their busy summer-time schedules and offering their voluntary services to benefit our industry.
