AAMA American Amusement Machine Association

“FUN” RAISING HAD BY ALL

The auction was a huge success!

In 2007, the American Amusement Machine Charitable Foundation (AAMCF), kicked off its fundraising season with their annual wreath fundraiser, and ended on a huge note with various events that took place at this year’s Amusement Showcase International (ASI).

Three events coincided with the Amusement Showcase International; the AAMCF golf tournament, silent auction and BIG raffle. The return to Vegas also meant the return of the charity golf tournament. Held at Stallion Mountain on Tuesday, March 27th; the tournament proved to be a challenge with Vegas implementing a wind advisory and unseasonably cool temperatures. But the golfers were true troopers and enjoyed the day’s events. Given the Chicago-like winds it was no surprise that no one walked away $50,000 richer by winning the hole in one contest, but that’s not to say they all walked away empty handed. Each golfer was given a goody bag, packed with Brady golf balls and tees, a Firestone golf towel and two Children’s Miracle Network water bottles. And congratulations to:

  • Best Team: David Cohen, Firestone – John Schultz, Rock-Ola – Tim Lacey, Rock-Ola and Rick Scherer, Rock-Ola each walked away with a $50.00 gift certificate for the Stallion Mountain pro shop.
  • Closest to the Pin: Rick Scherer was given an additional $50.00 gift certificate.
  • Longest Drive: David Swafford, TrioTech was also presented with a $50.00 pro-shop gift card.

The ASI opened its doors to include one of the biggest trade show auctions around.  The auction was a huge success! This has been the most impressive auction to date, displaying over 100 items up for grabs valued at over $45,000! Donations were made by nearly 60 AAMA members and non members alike.

Last but not least, congratulations are in order to our three very lucky BIG Raffle winners; the AAMCF held its “BIG” raffle on Friday, March 30, 2007.  This year’s exciting prizes included a 56” Samsung Rear Projection widescreen HDTV; an Extreme Hunting 2 game courtesy of SEGA Amusements USA, Inc.; and a Retro countertop courtesy of JVL Corporation.  The three lucky winners were as follows:

Winner of JVL Retro:                                                 Heidi Conlan
Winner of Sega’s Extreme Hunting 2:                         Sig Rudowicz
Winner of 56” HDTV:                                                 Jerry Reep

All in all the AAMCF raised over $37,000.00 for two worthwhile children’s charities. The AAMCF will present it’s donations to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) and Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (K.E.E.N.) during the AAMA Distributor Cocktail Gala on Friday, August 3.

From sponsors, donors, bidders and all who purchased raffle tickets the AAMCF greatly appreciates your support. Thank you!

The 2008 Amusement Showcase International will be held Thursday, March 27 through Saturday, March 29, 2008, in Hall S1 (South Hall 1 Lower Level) of the Las Vegas Convention Center. See you next year.
