The American Amusement Machine Association, (AAMA), spent a sunny
day at the Indian Springs Golf Club in Silver Springs,
Maryland for the 11th Annual Golf and Tennis Classic. Hosted by
the Kids Enjoy Exercise Now Foundation, (K.E.E.N.), the April
19th, 2004 event was a great success with 164 golfers and 12 tennis
enthusiasts raising over $50,000.00. AAMA joined the ranks of
such sponsors as Marriott, Gatorade, and the law firm of Sonnenschein,
Nath, and Rosenthal to support this outstanding charity.
A near 90 degree day offered a wonderful setting for the outing, which was followed by an elaborate feast, silent auction and award ceremony. Board President, Daniel Murphy, presented winners with fantastic prizes and expressed his appreciation to all who participated in the events, making it a great success.
For over 10 years, this nonprofit, volunteer organization has
provided recreational opportunities for children and young adults
with mental and physical disabilities. The
programs offer these youngsters the setting to play numerous sports
in a one-on-one environment. "With the strong and consistent support
of AAMA, K.E.E.N. now has eight separate programs for children
and young adults with disabilities and is poised to expand its
operations nationwide" said Elliott Portnoy, K.E.E.N.'s Founder
and longtime AAMA Government Relations Counsel. "K.E.E.N. is lucky
to have AAMA and the coin-op industry standing behind our innovative
efforts to help this very special group of children." With the
help of countless volunteers and sponsors, K.E.E.N. has made a
difference in the lives of hundreds of children and young adults
in the Washington D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia area. For

AAMA's Charitable Foundation, the American Amusement Machine Charitable Foundation, (AAMCF), has worked diligently to raise funds and awareness by hosting a golf tournament, a silent auction and "BIG" raffle. The events have historically coincided with the Amusement Showcase International Tradeshow and Convention, (ASI), every spring.
For those of you who enjoy the splendor of the holidays, AAMCF
also sells holiday wreaths to be delivery in the month of December.
The 26" wreaths make fantastic gifts for family, friends and business
associates. AAMCF is always
researching new fundraising ideas. For details on the AAMCF programs
and events, please call the AAMA/AAMCF office at 847.290.9171
or visit our website at www.coin-op.org
AAMA is a proud sponsor of the K.E.E.N. Foundation and with the support of so many AAMA member companies donating their time, hearts and funds each year, we hope to continue to support the K.E.E.N. Foundation for many years to come.
