ACG EQUIPMENT FINANCE

ACG Completes Expansion, Sets Sights On 2x Growth

They established ACG (originally Alliance Capital Group).

MENTOR, OH — ACG Equipment Finance reports that it has completed its new 10,000-sq.ft. corporate facility here. The expansion supports the company’s swift growth since its foundation in 2002.

ACG specializes in providing leases, loans and working capital from $5,000 to $150,000 for businesses. It was formed by Mat Welly, Tom Raglow and Phil Cardina, veterans of the financing business who have worked together since 1995.

In the 1990s, the principals were part-owners of NorthCoast Capital Leasing , a pioneer in providing non-recourse lending to the vending and coin-op amusements and music industry. NCL’s financing innovations enabled distributors to sell equipment easily without contingent liabilities and so changed the way in which business is done.

In 1997, NCL joined forces with First Sierra Financial, a publicly held company with 30 office nationwide. First Sierra Financial funded almost $2 billion in leases from 1997 to 2000, when it was acquired by American Express Business Finance.

The NCL principals felt that they were waging an uphill fight to continue servicing the coin-op industry, and the constraints imposed by a corporate bureaucracy were limiting their ability to offer new programs suggested by their entrepreneurial vision. They therefore established ACG (originally Alliance Capital Group).

ACG is on track to fund over $35 million in small-ticket financing in 2006. The company has grown from six to 22 employees, and hopes to double in volume by 2008. It runs a state-of-the-art computer leasing system that allows vendors to follow a transaction from start to finish through automated e-mails, and can provide same-day documents and funding.

The company prides itself on its ability to get financing for newer businesses. Information can be had by visiting its website, 1acg.com, or by calling ACG at (800) 830-0084. Online applications are available at the website.
