In Memory: Sming Huang The amusement gaming industry has lost a great leader. Sming Huang, President of American Alpha, Inc., passed away in Turku, Finland on July 7 following an accident while on vacation in the Baltic Sea. He was 57.
Sming had over 25 years in the amusement industry and was known and admired by many. He founded American Alpha in 1988 with a mission to deliver the best and most innovative games in the industry. Over the years, Sming led American Alpha to become a leader in the U.S. amusement market. During that time, he made countless friends and business partners all over the world, and earned the respect and loyalty of hundreds of customers, vendors and employees. His wife, Ann, and son, George, will succeed Sming as President and Chief Operating Officer, respectively. Both are currently top executives in the company. Under this leadership, the company fully intends to continue its business in keeping with Sming’s vision. A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM Saturday, July 22, at Princeton Alliance Church in Plainsboro, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to Ann Huang with a notation stating “Sming Huang Memorial.” The Huang family will use the funds to make a donation to charities in Sming’s name, including Turku University Hospital in Finland, which cared for him during his last hours. |
