Arachnid, Inc. BullShooter Tour Makes 3 Big Stops in November

The BullShooter Tour was busy in November traveling from South Dakota to New York, and ending up in Ohio.

The South Dakota Regional

The South Dakota Regional was held at the Oaks Hotel & Convention Center in Sioux Falls, SD, November 3-5, 2006. Lieberman Music Co. and Moss Distributing co-sponsored the tournament. Eight events were played in A and B Divisions (except Women’s Doubles). Players came from South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and Iowa to compete.

Arachnid recognizes and gives credit to new players that step up and take the challenge to compete in major tournaments. Kara Cole, from Council Bluffs, IA, has played causually and in only one dart league. Because her partner “Jersey” was an A player, she had to play in Mixed Doubles A Division against the masters. Kara shot excellent darts under pressure topping her average and doing her partner justice by finishing only one out of the money! Also, congratulations to Marcy Sorenson, from Omaha, NE, who won the championship in Mixed Cricket B with Josh Trout. This was her first big tournament win!

The New York BullShooter Regional

The New York BullShooter Regional was held November 10-12, 2006, at the Days Inn at the Falls. The BullShooter Qualifier was co-sponsored by Betson/Advance Distributing out of Syracuse, NY.

The New York Regional set records with huge numbers of players coming from New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Hampshire and West Virginia to compete. The Friday night warm-up was so large Arachnid paid out $3,060 in just the two blind draws!

There were 11 main events. Kathy Karpowich was the big winner over the weekend taking four championships in Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles Combo with partner Fran Ginder, and Mixed Cricket with Michael Abboud. Ray Carver was another big winner taking home three championships in Pro Cricket Singles, Pro Doubles with John Kuczynski and Pro/Am Cricket with Charlie Pristach.

In the open events, Chris Roseman and John McLear won both Men’s Doubles and Men’s Cricket Doubles, and Chris won Men’s Cricket Singles. Mixed Triples was won by Steve Warnock, Bill Gooder and Erin Nicholl.

Ohio BullShooter Regional

November 24-26, Shaffer Distributing co-sponsored the Ohio BullShooter Regional at the Holiday Inn Dayton North. Players came from Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania to compete for $9,000 guaranteed in cash, plus trophies and BullShooter Qualifying Cards to the Finals in May, 2007.

Andrew Olic shot well over the weekend taking firsts in Men’s Cricket Singles, after defeating Larry Butler in the finals, and Men’s Doubles with his partner Mathew Iceman.

Leslie Rager was another player doing well over the weekend taking firsts in Women’s Singles and Women’s Doubles with partner Joyce Clum. Women’s Doubles Combo was won by Tonya Bishop and Michelle Snyder. Tonya took another championship in Mixed Triples with Steven Crase and Loren Collins.

In the Pro events, Brad Wethington captured Pro Cricket Singles, George Lyday and Kirk Barnes won Pro Doubles and William Nicoll and Larry Butler captured Pro/Am Cricket.

In other events, Mixed Cricket was won by Sara White-Peters and Chris Roseman and Men’s Cricket Doubles by Richard Boehl and Timothy Dehond.
