ASI Amusement Showcase International

ASI 2006 – BRINGING OUT THE INDUSTRY FOR THE LARGEST AMUSEMENT SHOW IN THE SPRING !

The Amusement Showcase International will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in 2007 with a Wednesday-Thursday-Friday show pattern on March 28-30.

The opening of the Amusement Showcase International (ASI) at the Hyatt Regency Chicago (March 16-18) brought over 120 exhibitors occupying 354 booths and 3,376 attendees to see “what’s hot” for the amusement industry. Opening ceremonies included award presentations from the American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA) for Manufacturer of the Year presented to TouchTunes Music Corporation; Distributor of the Year presented to Shaffer Distributing and the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Jerry Marcus. Also Play Meter Magazine gave out its “Operator of the Year” award to Gray & Donna Brewer of Brewer Amusements.

AAMA Chairman Jon W. Brady said, “I was very encouraged with the product that was shown and very happy to see that there were some great video titles that were presented at the show, as well as some merchandisers and new redemption items. Very encouraged to see these new titles from several different suppliers, such as Stern Pinball, Raw Thrills, Betson, Smart Industries, and I.C.E., just to name a few. We saw quite a few new products there and some new suppliers and manufacturers as well.

“I was also very happy to see the turnout at the drawing for the Free Arcade on Saturday. I was pleased to see so many operators in attendance on Saturday which clearly was a good draw for the show.”

AAMA President Mike Rudowicz said, “Many exhibitors were excited about the show and expressed the fact that they had a good show both in booking orders and in getting many leads. The real key to the success of the show is the business that does get booked, especially during the weeks after the show, and many exhibitors seemed to be very happy with their future business and orders, and therefore I would say that the exhibitors were able to achieve their goals at the show, and a good time was had by all.”

The opening night Operator’s Cocktail Party on Thursday evening (March 16) held in the Crystal Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Chicago remained THE social networking event of the show. Nearly 1100 attendees enjoyed an evening of great food, the opportunity to socialize with customers and entertainment that included the Irish band, Whiskey Kinds and river dancing by a group of young Irish dancers.

There were seven exhibitors who sponsored the Operators Cocktail Party:

American Amusement Machines Association,
Betson Imperial Parts and Service
Firestone Financial Corp.
Merit Industries,
Namco America, Inc.
SEGA Amusements U.S.A., Inc.
TouchTunes Music Corp.
Valley-Dynamo
