ATEI

Traffic management experts appointed to marshal growth of London Show

ILS – will bring a more systematic and pre-planned approach to staging the exhibitions

Gerry Kilsby
The build-up and break-down of ATEI, ICE and ICEi will be in new hands from 2007, following the appointment of leading logistics contractor, Exhibition Traffic Management Services (ETMS).

The company has been appointed to help manage the increased traffic flows generated by an ever-increasing number of exhibitors at the Earls Court show, as well as ensuring a smooth transition to the reworked floor plans.

Paul Mills, operations executive for show organisers Clarion ATE, explained: “In 2006, traffic congestion around Earls Court rose to such high levels that the Police intervened, severely hampering our exhibitors’ break-down schedules. The appointment of ETMS – working alongside our existing lifting specialists, ILS – will bring a more systematic and pre-planned approach to staging the exhibitions, not least of which is the major development of ATEI on Level 1.”

Founded in 1987, Exhibition Traffic Management Services is led by managing director, Gerry Kilsby, who has worked in the industry for over 30 years. The company has twice received the AEO (Association of Exhibition Organisers) Award for Industry Service and manages over 60 events a year, including high profile expositions such as the London and Southampton Boat Shows, the Chelsea & Hampton Court Flower Shows and the Harrogate Home & Gift Fair. Clients include Clarion Events, Reed Exhibitions, United Business Media, Quantum, Penton, Haymarket Exhibitions and the Daily Mail Group.
