ATEI

U.S. industry to the fore in London

Frank Seninsky was amongst the record-breaking U.S. contingent last January

London, UK – Progress of building American prominence in European coin-op markets is set to continue this month as the 63rd Amusement Trades Exhibition International (ATEI) opens its doors to the global amusement industry (Earls Court 1, London – 23/24/25 January). The show’s organisers, Clarion ATE have confirmed that the United States’ coin-op sector remains on course to have one of the highest profiles amongst the long list of nations taking part in the three-day event.

The USA currently lies in third place in ATEI’s overseas exhibitor rankings with twelve companies having confirmed their stand space by the beginning of December, including four – Champion Shuffleboard, Cutting Edge Industries, Olhausen Billiard Manufacturing and Rock-Ola Manufacturing Corporation – making their debut appearance at the London Show. Two companies which made their maiden appearance in 2006 – Nova Resolution Industries and Valley-Dynamo are also scheduled to return.

Global VR is more than doubling the size of its display this time round, while the American Amusement Machine Association returns to fly the flag for US businesses, accompanied by Brand Vending Products, ESD Card, Pyramid Technologies and Vending Times.

The only countries outside the UK with a greater ATEI presence are Italy (23 exhibitors) and Spain (16).

Organisers are hoping for another strong turn-out from American coin-operators following a stunning result in 2006 when U.S. attendance surged by 44.6 per cent year-on-year to reach 240, the highest figure since 1998. American compatriots will not be in short supply at this January’s show, where 26 US-based gaming suppliers will be exhibiting in the co-located ICE (casino) and ICEi (remote gaming) exhibitions. Including the gaming executives, there were no fewer than 615 U.S. nationals in the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in 2006 – the highest on record for the show, now in its eighth decade.

President and CEO of entertainment consultancy Amusement Entertainment Management, Frank Seninsky was amongst the record-breaking U.S. contingent last January. He cited the reasons for his twelfth visit to the London Show as “seeking opportunity, meeting new people and catching up with friends, colleagues and competitors”, describing ATEI as “the most balanced of the international exhibitions and in terms of product sectors the most diverse…it provides food for thought and an invaluable snap shot on what’s happening in the world.”

Clarion ATE Chief Executive Peter Rusbridge commented: “The USA has always played a major role in ATEI and we very much hope that this special relationship is continued. Our restructured floor plans mean that amusement equipment will all be housed on the Upper Level of Earls Court 1, separate from the gaming displays on the Ground Floor. I’m sure that U.S. operators will appreciate the easier-to-navigate layout as well as the opportunity to see over 250 suppliers from 26 countries. We look forward to welcoming more of our American friends, new and old, to Earls Court later this month, where they’ll find plenty of new business opportunities to bolster their prosperity throughout 2007 and beyond.”
