BETSON/ADVANCE EXPO THE BEST EVER —

Betson/Advance Distributing’s Seventh Annual Expo held at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York.

The weekend of April 7, 2006, featured Betson/Advance Distributing’s Seventh Annual Expo held at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. Expo 2006 kicked off with a cocktail reception Friday night for exhibitors and guests. This year’s Expo was by far the biggest and best yet! It featured 45 exhibitors from the world of amusement and vending as well as product suppliers and food brokers, all of which had an opportunity to show over 150 pieces of equipment to over 140 operating companies and school districts with total attendance in excess of 400.

Attendees were able to see the latest vending, video games, jukeboxes, redemption, and instant redemption equipment available. Betson featured the all-new Raw Thrills motorcycle driving game, Super Bikes, which drew rave reviews from players of all ages. The Raw Thrills/Play Mechanix hit hunting game, Big Buck Hunter Pro was also highlighted and t-shirts were awarded to those players who scored highest. Other hits at the show included Namco’s Rockin’ Bowl-a-rama, ICE’s 4-player Super Trivia and Triotech’s Mad Motion Theater.

Many of the new vending pieces are able to showcase the new healthy snack items now available. On Friday afternoon a workshop targeting school districts was attended by 35 school districts from throughout the state of New York. Guest speaker, JoAnne Ricapito, Food Service Manager from Lakeland CSD in Shrub Oak, NY, shared her experience from a Food Service Director’s perspective on her very successful vending operation in her 6,000 plus student district. JoAnne is very positive toward vending in schools and encouraged all districts that now have vending to join NAMA and take advantage of what NAMA has to offer its members. NAMA generously raffled off two free memberships at the workshop.

In attendance from Betson were Robert Betti, Executive Vice President and Rick Kirby, Betson’s President along with Gary Lentz, VP of Sales & Marketing – Vending and Jennifer Short, Director of Marketing.
