Gentlemen, Start Your Engines

These are some of the best game designers in coin op today

Joliet, IL – “Gentlemen, Start Your Engines” has an entirely new meaning for members of Raw Thrills, Play Mechanix and Betson Enterprises. On June 7th, the three companies descended on the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL and took part in the Richard Petty Driving Experience. After a brief teaching session and countless Ricky Bobby quotes, over forty individuals were driving around the track at speeds up to 145MPH.

This event was held to celebrate the start of development on a brand new Raw Thrills title. “These are some of the best game designers in coin op today. In working on great driving titles, Betson wanted the crew to feel the rush and reality of driving a 700HP Nextel Cup car” said Bob Boals. He continues, “The feeling of the G Force in the turns and the roaring of the engines is something that has to be felt in order to really appreciate the realism they would like to design into the drivers of the future. Eugene Jarvis stated he was scared until he got behind the wheel. Now he can't wait to do it again so he can go 150MPH and faster!”
