East Coast Amusements Genius Box Scan Converter

Perfect Solution kit which combines two IT games

East Coast Amusements owner Dick Donlan announced today that it has become the exclusive US distributor for the Genius Box scan converter manufactured by Mimo Industries in Firenza, Italy. 

This unique scan converter can take any low or medium resolution video game signal and make it compatible with a VGA monitor.  This will allow operators to breathe new life into those very tired games that are using 50” projection monitors. 

It is perfectly compatible with Sega and Namco games as well as games that never used 50” big screens.  It also works well with games using 25 or 27” monitors if the operator is willing to do a little cabinet work.  If operators user their imagination, great things will result. 

Donlan’s other company, Amusement Technologies, which developed the very successful Perfect Solution kit which combines two IT games in one cabinet has also developed a plug and play kit for the scan converter. 

Donlan says that “some of the results are mind blowing.  You should see the display of a Midway Hydrothunder or Sega Gunblade brought to life on a 42” LCD.”
