Ecast Primes Jukebox Cash Box Average with Hot New Artists

“There is a direct relationship between how fast you can get new music out to your jukes, and how much money those jukes earn,”

(SAN FRANCISCO) To insure top cash box earnings for their broadband jukebox operators, Ecast (http://www.ecastnetwork.com) has uploaded to their network albums from three hot new recording artists predicted to generate significant paid plays.

According to the company’s play back statistics, 33% of the most downloaded songs on the Ecast network were uploaded within the last 5 weeks. This is proof positive that keeping a jukebox stocked with fresh, new music is key to driving and sustaining earnings. In fact, the number 5 most popular download, Dani California from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, has only been on the network for 3 weeks, and Crazy by Gnarls Barkley, the number two hit on the network is less than 4 weeks old.

“There is a direct relationship between how fast you can get new music out to your jukes, and how much money those jukes earn,” said John Taylor, chief executive officer at Ecast. “Only Ecast adds new music to every jukebox every week. This is what drives our Download and Play feature to account for nearly 40% of selections on our network and why Ecast-powered jukes out earn the competition. .”

Ecast music programmers are always on the lookout for new music from hot artists that are going to drive more downloads. Following are some new releases sure to be making the charts in the coming month:

1. The Raconteurs Broken Boy Soldiers - This White Stripes side project has been all over the media for the last few weeks. Their debut album combines the songwriting talents of Jack White with fellow Detroit power-popper Brendan Benson to make an instant classic. The album debuted on the Billboard top 200 at number seven.

2. Angels and Airwaves We Don’t Need to Whisper - This new band from Tom DeLonge of Blink 182 explores a more mature sound without sacrificing any of the youthful energy that has made Blink 182 a multi-platinum selling act. Heavy chart action is predicted by Billboard magazine.

3. Def Leppard Yeah! - This veteran group’s triumphant return with a set of classic rock songs as their tribute to classic glam rock. This is another album predicted by Billboard for heavy chart action.

Ecast leverages its broadband edge to offer patrons access to unprecedented song selection instantly, with no wait. With broadband now constituting 70 percent of all internet connections, according to a May 2006 survey of internet service providers, and dial-up connections continuing to decline, consumers have become accustomed to instantly downloading the content they want, without enduring long download times. And the same is true on Ecast-powered jukeboxes. Every hour a jukebox operates without the latest music, is an hour when it is not earning its greatest potential.

Digital jukeboxes outperform CD jukeboxes because they give patrons more songs to choose from. But keeping digital jukebox earnings primed means making sure the latest, breaking artists are available as soon as they are released in stores.

Last month, Ecast demonstrated the power of using on-screen jukebox promotions to increase the number of paid plays on the new Kid Rock “Live Trucker” album by 781 percent.
