Bill Caragianis, Newport Music Company, Receives Honor in Memory of Respected Operator
Ecast, the developer of the nation’s largest digital broadband jukebox network, created the award in memory of the pioneering Coastal Vending coin operator, Mark Balint. The presentation of the award marks the two-year anniversary of his passing. The award was established last year to honor a member of the operator community who exemplifies the qualities of this special entrepreneur.
“Bill Caragianis truly demonstrates all of the attributes that come with this award,” said Steven Kellam, vice president of network sales, Ecast. “He was the first operator in Rhode Island to install Ecast’s broadband-enabled jukebox and has since connected a significant portion of his jukeboxes to the Ecast network. More importantly, Bill’s progressive approach to all aspects of the jukebox business has been a wonderful asset to Ecast. Bill’s day-to-day operations serve as a model of efficiency for anyone running a jukebox route. And similar to Mark Balint’s efforts, Bill frequently helps Ecast identify opportunities for enhancements in both our product and operations. Newport Music continues to be a strong and valuable partner of ours in Rhode Island. We tip our hat to Bill for his exemplary vision, honor and dedication.” “With over 30 years of experience and 16 years as the head of Coastal Vending, Mark Balint was one of Ecast’s first customers and partners,” said Mr. Kellam. “He was a visionary that predicted the impact that downloading music would have on the industry and was a driving force in helping to establish Ecast’s footprint. Ecast is proud to have operating partners like Bill to carry on Mark’s legacy of innovation.” ABOUT ECAST Ecast (www.ecastnetwork.com) founded in 1999, operates the largest broadband-enabled touchscreen media network in the United States with more than 8,000 digital jukeboxes nationwide.
