Industry Leader Gains Access to 1st Media Patent SAN FRANCISCO, - Ecast Inc., the leading out-of-home interactive media company that operates the largest network of broadband-enabled, digital touch-screen jukeboxes, has signed a license agreement with 1st Media LLC covering 1st Media’s core multimedia patent for downloading music and video, ending the patent litigation between the parties.The licensed patent was developed by interactive media pioneer Dr. Scott Lewis, CEO of 1st Media, a leading technology licensing company with a patent portfolio of advanced multimedia innovations. “We are pleased to have entered into this important licensing agreement with 1st Media. This secures our leadership in the marketplace and allows our company to focus on further expanding our network footprint,” said John Taylor, president and CEO, Ecast. Emphasizing the importance of the agreement, Dr. Lewis said, “1st Media is delighted to have an industry leader, such as Ecast, license our technology. Our premier patent portfolio is widely recognized in the industry; it will allow Ecast to develop superior media products to better serve their customers.” Terms of the settlement between the two parties are not being disclosed.
