ECAST-POWERED JUKEBOXES FEATURE LATEST ALBUMS FROM THE SHINS AND JOHN MELLENCAMP ON NATIONWIDE BROADBAND NETWORK
|
The Shins’ “Wincing the Night Away” and John Mellencamp’s “Freedom Road,”
SAN FRANCISCO – Two stellar new albums, The Shins’ “Wincing the Night Away” and John Mellencamp’s “Freedom Road,” appeared automatically today on jukeboxes across Ecast’s 8,000-plus nationwide broadband music network.
While the CDs are still sitting at stores, crisp with shrink wrap and awaiting purchase, these highly anticipated albums are ready for Ecast patrons to enjoy.
Enjoying status as the Ecast featured album for the week is “Wincing the Night Away,” titled for The Shins lead singer/ songwriter James Mercer’s “crippling insomnia.” With their name recognition approaching close to mainstream, this album is considered one of the most heavily anticipated albums of 2007.
Also appearing on the Ecast network today and equally sure to get patron attention is “Freedom’s Road,” the new album by John Mellencamp. His first new album of all new songs in over five years, it has been hailed by Vanity Fair as possibly “the best album of his multi-platinum 31-year career." Patrons will likely be familiar with the single “Our Country,” which was licensed to a groundbreaking Chevrolet commercial campaign, replacing Bob Seeger’s “Like a Rock” as the sound of the “hot dog-and-apple pie” American automobile manufacturer.
The weekly music release also features a number of other notable albums, with sounds for everyone. Some highlights include:
- Classic soul sounds: Curtis Mayfield and The Chambers Brothers
- Christian alternative rock: Switchfoot, “Oh! Gravity”
- Pop and dance: A collection of remixes of the heavily played “SexyBack” by Justin Timberlake
- Latin: Four albums by sultry and much-in-demand Mexican artist, Lucero
