ECAST GETS A “FACE” LIFT

Interactive Entertainment Network Introduces Version Three of Its User Interface
SAN FRANCISCO, – Ecast, an entertainment company operating the largest broadband touchscreen media network in the United States, unveiled a new media interface that transforms the consumer experience with more compelling and intuitive multimedia navigational controls.
To help attract more patrons and encourage more song plays and premium-pay downloads, Ecast has created a sleeker look with easy-to-read navigation buttons, less text and more artwork. This new look enables users to find old favorites and discover new music - even easier and faster than before. To patrons, the most notable changes will be the main screen, which now features six albums at a time in order to provide more music choice at a glance. There are also larger buttons for the “Search,” “Hot Hits” and “More By Artist” features.
“Our new touchscreen media interface delivers incremental value to everyone we serve,” said John Taylor, president and CEO, Ecast. “From the consumers who play music, the coin operators who derive revenue from our broadband music service, as well as the advertisers and music promoters that utilize the network for their promotional campaigns—everyone will see the improvements firsthand.”
Ecast reported that the current upgrade was virtually seamless, due to the company’s all-broadband network. Consequently, Ecast was able to upgrade the UI from a central network and update 10,000-plus locations simultaneously.
For advertisers and music promoters, the new touchscreen media interface now provides 130 percent more real estate for marketing and promotional content. This announcement follows Ecast’s recent news of their partnership with DoubleClick, which offers marketers sophisticated, flexible and easy-to-use planning, serving and reporting capabilities. The new UI and deal with DoubleClick serve to further enhance and validate Ecast as a measurable and effective interactive marketing tool.
Coin-operators are also already seeing the benefits. “I walked into one of my locations and the bar owner came over to me saying ‘the new jukebox is cool,’” said Jim Marsh, coin-operator from Hart Novelty, who was a beta tester. “I went over to the unit to see what he was talking about and I loved it! The six-pack screen is great…the “search” button even better! The whole thing rocks.”
