Platinum Partners Club

David Cohen, President and CEO of Firestone Financial, presented each of the vendors with a personalized plaque.


I would like to thank everyone for taking some time out of their busy schedules this morning.   I promise that we will only be a few minutes.  The reason why you have been invited here is for Firestone to acknowledge our appreciation and gratitude for the relationships that we have with your companies.  Some of you have been conducting business with Firestone for over 30 years.  We want to make sure that you understand that we appreciate the relationship and to specifically thank you for the business that you directed to our company during the calendar year of 2006.

To show our appreciation, we have established a Platinum Partners Club that recognizes the partners that were a significant part of our business last year.  In addition to thanking you publicly today, the company has made a contribution to the association’s charity foundation in your honor.   We have plaques made which acknowledges your partnership with our company.   We hope that these plaques will be proudly displayed in your offices.  The five manufacturers and twelve distributors that are here today represent the top channel providers for our company and our industry.  You should be proud of the contributions that you make to this industry.

The role of the manufacturer in the coin-op industry is obviously vital.  Without their creativity and product development, there would be nothing to fuel the supply chain to provide products for distributors to sell and operators to place on location to earn money.  Firestone is thankful for the successful business we have with the manufacturers present today.  Together we have created subsidized finance promotions as a vehicle to provide incremental sales into the marketplace.  The formula for success in these promotions is to have a product that is in demand in the marketplace and to create an aggressive sales and marketing strategy that will encourage operators to acquire product for their locations and give them access to the capital to pay for the equipment.  We are very grateful for those partnerships and believe that they continue to be powerful tool to stimulate sales for our industry

Now, as I call our 5 manufacturer honorees in alphabetical order, I’d like the representatives these companies to come up and receive their 2006 Platinum Partner Club Plaque.  I invite you to stay up here and have a group picture taken by our guests from the industry’s trade publications.    Afterwords, I will talk about our distributor honorees.

Distributors…..My sometimes underappreciated friends.  The  definition of a distributor in the dictionary is “someone who markets merchandise to the end user”.  Another definition that I found which I thought was an appropriate parallel is “an electrical device that distributes voltage to the spark plugs of an engine in the order of the firing sequence”.

You, the distributors, are the voltage to the spark plugs of this industry.  You have done a great job of providing your customers with the equipment and service that they need to run and grow their businesses.  You provide the linkage to the customer. It is through your salesmanship and relationships with the operators that have allowed all of us to provide be part of this industry.  Thank you.     We have had long-standing relationships with all of the distributors represented here today and cannot understate the importance that your relationships mean to Firestone as a business, and to us as individuals, for the friendships that have been created over the years.
