Incorporating & POST SHOW REPORT With the purpose of maturing and developing with innovation, convenience, expertise, knowledge and services, The ‘Middle East Vending & Kiosks Expo’, held at the Joharah Ballroom, Madinat Jumeirah Hotel from May 20th – May 21st 2006, was a trade expo and conferences featuring and portraying the ROI on these comprehensible solutions, techno-savvy advances and bringing you tomorrow’s gadgets today, to help boost the industries, which are poised for further growth and development in the coming years.
Patronized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry and supported by International Associations for the first time ever in Dubai – NAMA (National Automatic Merchandising Association), EVA (European Vending Association), WVA (Worldwide Vending Association) and JVMA (Japan Vending Manufacturers Association), the show encouraged the adoption of global self-service in the Middle East mounting markets. The two-day trade show, with the conferences held alongside, served as a vibrant platform spurring high-powered activity of international business and networking. The exuberance of optimism and excitement was quite evident throughout the exhibition. Inaugurated by H.E. Abdul Rahman G. Al Mutaiwee, Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, UAE, ‘The Middle East Vending & Kiosks Expo 2006’ brought together 52 Exhibitors featuring vending & kiosks solutions in Access Control, Beverages, Candy & Chocolates, Parking Fee Validates, Pay Phones, Stickers, Newspaper, Shoe Shine, DVD, Coin-Ups, Cashless Vending, Information, Internet, Bank Teller Terminals, Cash Dispensers, Hardware, Magnetic & Chip Card Readers, Photo, POS Systems, Software, Technical Supports, Kiosk Related Accessories, Ticketing Solutions, Touch Point, Turnkey Solutions and more, with the potential and synergy for both vending & kiosks industries being clearly defined within the Exhibition Hall. The Exhibition was an insight into how to increase revenue, decrease expenses and improve the customer experience. The show and conferences delivered critical content and strategies directly from companies that deployed self-service within their organizations and those which provided self-service. This first edition of the Dual-Automation & Self-Service Show concluded with a tremendous response. The event featured exhibitors from the United Kingdom, India, Malaysia, Italy, Kuwait, United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, Canada, China, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Ireland and more. All exhibitors achieved their objectives and goals thus capitalizing on the fast growing Middle East potential. Almost all exhibitors at the Expo expressed complete satisfaction at the overwhelming quality visitor response to the event. With increased marketing focus, the show attracted 1246 trade and professional visitors, inciting over 80% of the exhibitors to repeat their participation for the 2007 edition of the event. Visitors were enthused by the quality of exhibitors and captivated by the wide array of products on display. Innovative and new launches generated special interest amongst the visitors. Spate of interests ranging from distributorship, agency, entering into joint ventures, alliances, contract manufacturing etc. were discussed and deliberated at the show. The visitors comprised of a profile from all over the Middle East, the Pan Arab region, the Indian sub continent, the Levant region, North Africa and the CIS countries and beyond.
