Former 49er and Football Legend Roger Craig joined Jim DeRose and the GLOBAL VR Team at the Introduction of the New Madden Game San Francisco, California --- When the San Francisco 49ers football team was formed in 1946 they needed a stadium to play at. They chose Kezar Stadium as their home and played their first game on September 8, 1946 against the New York Yankees (Yes, the Yankees were a football team from 1946-1949). So, when GLOBAL VR was looking for a location for the first public introduction of Madden Season 2, they followed the 49ers’ historic trail only on this occasion they went to Kezar Pub. The program began at 4 pm with a presentation by Jim DeRose, GLOBAL VR’s Chairman and CEO. He spoke candidly to operators about the company, the all new Madden and gave a sneak peak of the exciting line-up of games to be released by GLOBAL VR over the next several months. He was followed by Mike Kruse, Madden Football producer, who gave a short presentation of the game where operators saw first hand the differences between the old and new game as well as an on-site installation of the Madden Update Kit. “It was so much fun to see the faces in the crowd when we demonstrated the new game. It was like they were seeing Madden for the very first time!” Mike went on the comment, “I didn’t intend to be rude, but I had to ask people to stop playing the game so that everyone would get an opportunity to join in. It was terrific to see everyone playing and having a great time.” At the conclusion of the operator presentation a raffle was held for a free Madden Update Kit which was won by Golfland’s Jason Kenny. By 7 pm the house was rockin’ and the Madden Tournament was in full swing. GLOBAL VR hosted the event which awarded $500 in cash prizes as well as autographed football apparel and memorabilia. Roger Craig, former 49er and one of the game’s greatest running backs, joined the festivities and challenged players to a game where he played his own SF 49ers historic team. At this event, everyone was a winner! Next week, the Madden Launch Tour moves to Seattle and Dallas. In Seattle guests will be joined by the former Seahawk QB and University of Washington’s all-time leader in passing yards, Brock Huard. In Dallas guests will get the chance to meet a Texas A&M graduate and one of the Cowboy’s all time favorite linebackers, Dat Nguyen.
