Grafe Auction Company

JoyRides Family Fun Center Equipment and Real Estate Offered at Public Auction

Tremendous opportunity for both small and large operators

JoyRides is an 18+ acre family entertainment complex in Colorado Springs, CO. Grafe Auction Company will be conducting a public auction, onsite at JoyRides, Thursday, May 17, 2006, starting at 10:00 AM. Located at 5150 Edison Ave., JoyRides closed last year after servicing the local market for six years.

“This is a high profile auction for the Colorado Springs area and a tremendous opportunity for both small and large operators in the family entertainment center industry nationwide,” said Judd Grafe, president of Grafe Auction. “It is a rare occasion for this amount of excellent equipment to be offered at public auction with no minimums or reserves. The great thing about this auction is it truly offers something for everyone. This facility encompassed many aspects of the family entertainment segment, including: carnival rides, three go-kart tracks, mini-golf, a haunted house, a huge arcade with over 50 machines, play areas and much more. Whether you operate a fun center, park, arcade or restaurant or just want to pick up a game for your home, this is a sale you won’t want to miss.”

JoyRides is owned by Gary Haglund who also owns Blue Ridge Construction in Colorado Springs. Although JoyRides was a successful venture, Gary has chosen to concentrate his efforts on the construction industry and other endeavors.

The JoyRides auction is open to the public and all of the equipment will be sold regardless of price. The auction includes all of the rides, go-karts, arcade games, amusements, café, offices, shop, vehicles, support equipment and more. Additionally, 18 acres of prime commercial real estate in three parcels will be offered at 11:00 AM. All together, the complete facility will be liquidated in this huge one day event. Live online bidding will be available for the majority of equipment. A formal preview is scheduled on Wednesday, May 16 from Noon until 6:00 PM.

Grafe Auction Company’s corporate offices are in Spring Valley, MN, with satellite offices in Chicago, Denver and Minneapolis. Grafe averages 180 commercial auctions each year nationwide.
