Credit Cards Now Accepted on Golden Tee LIVE Machines

New Alternatives to Cash Continue to Increase Earnings for Operators

(January 12, 2006 - Arlington Heights, IL) The use of credit cards for payment of goods and services continues to grow at a record pace in the United States. But in the coin-operated amusement industry where “cash is king” is more fact than cliché, credit cards have made little impact.

Until now.

Incredible Technologies' Golden Tee LIVE, the amusement industry's most successful video game franchise for the past decade, has now added credit card payments to an already impressive list of innovations. Now players are no longer limited to the cash in their pockets when they play Golden Tee LIVE.

“We want to remove barriers to play,” said Larry Hodgson, IT's vice president of product development. “Credit cards will allow Golden Tee players to stay longer and play more games. It's the next logical step for our game and our industry. We want our operators to make more money - credit cards will help make that happen.”

At the onset of play, the player is asked to choose a manner of payment. If “Credit Card” is selected from the menu, the player is prompted to swipe his Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card. The machine then uses a wireless Sprint modem to connect with Chase Paymentech Solutions to authorize the transaction. When the transaction is complete, the player can request an email receipt for his records. All transactions are itemized on the player's monthly credit card statement, and they will also be accessible on their secure player account at www.goldentee.com.

“Using a credit card for identification or payment for a game of Golden Tee LIVE is as secure as buying groceries at the supermarket or paying at the gas pump,” said Andy Kniaz, IT's executive director. “In order to certify on Chase Paymentech Solution's platform, IT had to conform to stringent security policies and standards. Besides offering unparalleled security, our main goal is to make credit card payments easy for our operators. I want to stress that all an operator has  to do is turn on the machine and it will process credit cards. No work or new bank account is required. The accounting is very simple to understand and operators will find it fast and easy to make a proper split with their locations.”

Chase Paymentech Solutions was chosen by IT to administrate the Golden Tee LIVE credit card program because of their leadership in the growing field of micropayments. “Chase Paymentech Solutions is delighted to offer the latest in payments technology to Incredible Technologies customers,” said Robert Wechsler, Executive Vice President, Sales & Service, Chase Paymentech Solutions. “It shows a savvy business strategy to offer their customers the ease of use and convenience that comes with credit card payments.”

When credit cards are introduced in traditional “cash only” industries, where small ticket transactions are most common, merchants typically see a 20% increase in business. “We need to stay in step with the purchasing trends of our customers,” Kniaz said. “It makes little sense to limit ourselves to only cash when it's clear that consumers are demanding the convenience of gift cards and credit cards.”

Golden Tee LIVE offers players the largest variety of payment options of any coin-operated video game: Cash, PPA's (Personal Player Accounts), gift cards and now credit cards. “Players have embraced non-cash payments,” said Kniaz. “Thousands of games of Golden Tee LIVE are played everyday - with no cash going into the game. Operators need to understand how important this is to their business,” he said.

Golden Tee LIVE was the top seller of all new dedicated coin operated video games in 2005 and according to Don Pesceone, IT's vice president of sales, there's no better time than now to buy. “With our just announced $800 price reduction, Golden Tee LIVE has never been more affordable. And as more and more new features continue to roll out, players and locations will demand the latest and greatest. Don't send your players - or your locations - to your competitors. Now's the time to buy!”
