KWP Limited, attractions and amusement consultancy specialists, and Ithaca Media, organiser of Leisure Industry Week (LIW), are pleased to announce their new partnership. KWP has specific interests in the application of technology into the pay-to-play sector, including experience with the development and application of ‘interactive simulation’, ‘video amusement’, and ‘prize tournaments’ - with detailed market research into the deployment of ‘e-Payment’, ‘wireless communication’ and ‘connectivity’ into the amusement sector. “I am delighted to have Kevin Williams on board. The focus on new technologies, particularly in simulation, video amusement in the attractions market is a major focus for us this year and yet another development and investment area among many others with the show this year,” said Michael Westcott, Director of Ithaca Media’s leisure group. “KWP’s expertise in amusement technology will help us form an exciting offering of the right players, content and technologies at the show this year, where we expect a sizeable increase in attendance from the attractions industry both here in the UK and across Europe,” Westcott added. During the Attractions Industry Forum education programme KWP will also be hosting a special session on new developments within attractions and amusements. LIW is the UK’s largest and longest-running out-of-home leisure trade show and convention that takes place annually at the NEC in Birmingham. LIW’s attractions industry section caters specifically to operators of family attractions and entertainment across the UK and Europe. Almost 10,000 (9,982 ABC Audited) leisure and attractions operators attended the 2005 show posting a record attendance growth from the attractions market. To continue audience growth and market penertration LIW has signed agreements with the following associations : British Association of Leisure Parks Piers and Attractions (BALPPA) Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) National Farm Attractions Network (NFAN) and Association of Play Industries. The launch of the National Licensed Business Show (NLBS) co-located with LIW will attract visitors from independent pubs, bar owners, and senior operational and business management from multiple pub and bar chains. They will join thousands of other licensed venue operators from across the leisure industry in the only event in the pub and bar sector in a national venue in the Autumn.
