Merit Sings the Praises of Rocktober Tournament Winners

Bensalem, PA - The sounds of “Rocktober” greeted Megatouch™ players from across the nation recently, as Merit Industries, Inc. conducted its latest TournaMAXX™ touch-screen competition. Featured games in October's round of online tournament action were 11Ball™ and Take2™.

Mark Malloy earned the top score in 11Ball from Sorrento's in Freeland, PA, while second-place winner Marlena Kelley fine-tuned her game at The Harp in Houston, TX. The spirit of competition was also alive and well at Ruby's Sports Bar in Havelock, NC, where Sheila Williams claimed third place. Touch-screens for the respective sites were supplied by local vendors Aaaamusement Rrr Usss, Vending Resources, and Massengill Music Company.

Williams, an employee at Ruby's Sports Bar, said she enjoys the variety of Megatouch games and looks forward to each TournaMAXX competition. “The tournaments are always a big deal around here,” she said. “It's a fun way to gain bragging rights over the other players.”

Massengill's Marc Alexander recognized the competitiveness of the event as well, noting that “The players really go all out!”

Card game enthusiasts also took center stage in “Rocktober” with Take2. Leading the way was high-scorer Robert Weaver, who played out of the Fort Lauderdale Ale House in Florida. Paramount Vending was the supplier for the winning location, while Player International, LLC provided runner-up Tom Fazio and the Bowery Grill & Pub of Canton, MI with its Megatouch. The group of honorees was rounded out in the heartland state of Indiana, where James Smith took third place from Carson's Pub in Indianapolis, home of vendor Just Darts, Inc.

Mark Hahn of Player International said he was impressed with the turnout and revenue generated by the Rocktober Tournament. “It was our best tourney yet,” he exclaimed.

Bob Mills, Merit's Vice President of Network Businesses & Marketing, was quick to acknowledge the role of the company's sponsors in the success of the tournament. “Mars Electronics, Tatung Company of America, ECS, and 3M Touch Systems all played key roles in helping to make this event another great success,” he said. “The quality of our sponsors' products has helped Merit's touch-screen game business operators generate profits through unmatched reliability.”
