Gamers Go Crazy for March Madness Tournament

Bensalem, PA - Merit Industries, Inc.'s annual March Madness TournaMAXX™ competition pushed the competition over the edge for featured Megatouch ® games Castle Bandits and Vinci Ball.

All three of this month's winners for Castle Bandits played on machines operated by CDL Company of Minneapolis, MN. First place went to Dave Chase of Minneapolis, MN with a score of 331, 260 playing at the Brooklyn Center Legion in Brooklyn Center, MN. The 3rd place winner, Bob Chase (329,960), also came from Brooklyn Center. Playing at the 200 Club was 2nd place Damon Springer, also of Minneapolis with a score of 330,260. The single game high score winner was Jaime Bellefeuille with a score of 343,700, who played at Liquor Pigz in Little Falls, MN on a machine operated by the Hazelwood Corp.

“The tournaments are awesome,” said Damon Springer. “They really make you want to try as hard as you can to beat the guy ahead of you, especially when you're this close to the top.”

The winning shot in this month's Vinci Ball tournament was scored by Harold Stoltz of Spokane, WA. He took 1st place with an average of 257,150 and took the single game high score title with 312,000. Stoltz played at Slick's in Spokane on a touch screen operated by Bullseye Amusement. The 2nd & 3rd place winners both came on machines operated by Raleigh Amusements. Second place went to Macrae Godfrey of Louisburg, NC, who played at the Brass Tap, with a score of 254,750. Coming in at 3rd was Steve Larsen of Raleigh, NC with a score of 251,600 at Edward's Bar and Grill.

Matt Zasmeta of Hazelwood Corp. said, “This month's competition was great, it really makes the players want to play more so they can win. It's a nice push for us.”
