Merit EntertainmentSummer Season Concludes with Merit's Heat Wave TournamentBensalem, PA - TournaMAXX™ players from across the country enjoyed a month-long Heat Wave this August, compliments of Merit Entertainment. A special skills tournament was also incorporated into the Heat Wave event, with prizes awarded to the top performers in Tri Towers™.
At stake in the Tri Towers tournament
Merit-thon Cards turned up a familiar name in first place, as Mark Malloy of Freeland, PA aced yet another monthly tournament. Malloy, who plays out of Sorrento's Restaurant and Pizzeria, has proven his skills on a variety of Megatouch games with numerous wins in past TournaMAXX events. His closest competitor this time came from Houston, TX, where Christopher Boehme took second place from EJ's Bar. Meanwhile, third place was secured by Kim Shinall at the Rainbow Cactus in Virginia Beach, VA. Contributing vendors from each respective locale were Aaaamusement Rrr Usss, Vending Resources and Bee Gee Amusements Inc.
Funky Monkey's top player came from Toledo, OH, home of Bremer Vending and Upper Deck Bar & Grill. It was there that Roger Conboy claimed first place, narrowly edging out runner-up Barbara Lutz of Hazleton, PA. Aaaamusement Rrr Usss was again the vendor utilized in Pennsylvania, this time supplying a touch-screen to Amore De Pizza. “I see my revenues go way up whenever Merit introduces a new TournaMAXX event,” noted Bernard Gabrille Jr. of Aaaamusement Rrr Usss.
Rounding out the Funky Monkey winners was Susanne Pignotti, who tallied her third-place score from Philly Sports Bar & Grill in - where else? - Nebraska. The La Vista-based establishment was supplied by NTS, which, according to Nancy Hodges, has always had success with Merit tournaments. “People really love the variety of games the Megatouch system offers,” she said.
Bob Mills, Merit's Vice President of Network Businesses & Marketing, acknowledged the key role played by sponsors in support of the event. “Mars Electronics - which makes the world's finest bill acceptors - has been with us from the first year's event,” said Mills. “We would also like to thank Tatung Company of America, which makes Merit's monitors; ECS, which supplies Merit's PC boards; and 3M Touch Systems, the manufacturer of Merit's touch-screens.”
