“We would like to say thank you to all who participated" Bensalem, PA – Merit Entertainment’s annual Independence TournaMAXX™ tournament had revolutionary competition in both the regular and prize 11Ball™ tournaments.
This month’s regular 11Ball tournament had winners from all over the U.S. of A. First place went to Shorty Almas of Fayetteville, NC. Shorty scored 171,770 on a Megatouch® from J & J Vending at the Shady Lady. Coming in second was Martin Gravis playing at the Sports Page in Ogden, UT. Martin scored 170,730 on a machine from Chambers Music Service. A close third was Hugh Wilson with 170,620. Hugh plays at Scalawag’s in Westerville, OH on a touchscreen from Shaffer Services. The Single Game High Score comes in all the way from Port Orchard, WA; it’s Forrest Cates with 176,550. Forrest plays at Endzone, which is operated by Bears Amusements. The fireworks really went off in the 11Ball Prize tournament. Christopher Boehme racked up 174,230 for first place and 177,150 to take home the Single Game High Score. For his efforts, Chris won an Apple iBook G4. He plays at Roeder’s in Houston, TX on a Vending Resources touchscreen. In second place with 171,420 was Brian Kallhoff of Lincoln, NE. Brian won a 700W Home Theater System while playing on a VVS, Inc. machine at E.J.’s Lounge & Grill. Dave Lackey of VVS, Inc. commended the competitive atmosphere created by Merit’s TournaMAXX tournaments. Third place went to Jack McCarthy of Pittsburgh, PA. Jack scored 171,170 while playing at the Pizza House, winning a Tungsten E2 Organizer. The Pizza House’s Megatouch is from H. Lazar & Son. Top prizewinner Chris Boehme has been playing TournaMAXX tournaments for the past 3 years and is hooked. He says, “11Ball is one of my favorite games and I always look forward to it being the featured tournament game. It’s one of the games in which skill plays a much larger factor than luck.” Chris added, “Playing at Roeder’s is fantastic. They’ve gone out of their way to welcome game players and are the only place in town, that I know of, with 3 TournaMAXX machines. And, there’s still almost always a line waiting for the next available one.” Bob Mills, Merit’s Vice President of North American Sales said, “We would like to say thank you to all who participated, helping to make this event another great success. Everyone came together to make this Independence tournament one of the best ever.” For more than 27 years, Merit has ensured long-term return on investment for operators by providing continually high-earning equipment along with updates and upgrades for its products.
