MERIT ENTERTAINMENT

Merit Extends Motherboard Warranty to Two Years and Cuts Out-of-Warranty Replacement Cost to $50

We know our systems are rock-solid.

Bensalem, PA – Merit Entertainment announces its new Motherboard Express Program, which ushers in several improvements in the way it handles support for both boards under warranty, and older, out-of-warranty boards.

Merit has extended the warranty on all ION™ motherboards to two years, and has taken the unusual step of making this extension retroactive to all ION boards already in the field. “We know our systems are rock-solid. We decided it was time to back that up with a rock-solid warranty,” said Colin Higbie, Merit’s Director of Marketing.

Merit’s new Motherboard Express program also ensures that operators of older Force systems have immediate access to replacement boards in the event of board problems.

“Operators can bring their old, defective, out-of-warranty boards into their local authorized distributor, exchange it for a refurbished board with a full one-year guarantee, then receive a coupon for two hundred dollars off their next new equipment purchase,” explained Bob Mills, Merit’s Vice President of Sales. “The net effective cost to the operator will be about fifty bucks, so while having a system go down even for a few hours is not acceptable, at least now we have a program in place to get operators back up and running the same day.”

If operators find that their local distributor does not have the motherboards in stock, they can contact Merit’s customer service department for a similar board exchange. Merit will ship the board overnight at its expense, however this is not as fast the same day turn-around only available from an authorized distributor. For this reason, Merit recommends operators always work with their local authorized distributor whenever possible.

The Motherboard Express program follows Merit’s recent thirty-month extension of its Quick-Click™ hard drive warranty. “We want the operators of the quarter-million Merit games in service to know that they can count on us to support them and keep their systems running. Providing our operators with the strongest long-term return on investment possible is at the heart of all of these programs,” stated Dave Logan, Merit’s President.

For more than 27 years, Merit has ensured long-term return on investment for operators by providing continually high-earning equipment along with updates and upgrades for its products. With an installed base of over 250,000 touch-screen games garnering nearly 4.6 billion plays per year, Merit Entertainment is the worldwide leader in touch-screen entertainment devices. Merit Entertainment products appear globally in a wide array of venues and appeal to an almost limitless demographic. Merit continues to expand its position in the industry with ever-increasing entertainment, content, and new games. The company maintains a Web site with all the latest information at www.meritgames.com.
