MERIT ENTERTAINMENT

Players Win Like Rock Stars in Rocktober Tournament

I play every month, but Boxxi is my favorite game

Bensalem, PA – Merit Entertainment’s annual Rocktober TournaMAXX™ tournament kicked out some hot jams with the regular & prize Boxxi tournaments.

Gary Sarbacher of Grangeville, ID rocked the regular Boxxi tournament with a first place average score of 1,777,440.  Gary plays at The Establishment, also in Grangeville, on a machine operated by Rob’s Amusement.  In second place was Walter Dietz who plays at Malarky’s Southgate in Southgate, MI.  Walter’s score of 1,734,980 was earned on a touchscreen from TD Rowe – Michigan.  Rounding out the top three was David Jones of Goshen, IN.  David plays at BW3’S in Goshen on a MegaTouch® from Diltz & Son’s.  Rick Bello scored a whopping 2,041,800 points to snag the Single Game High Score title.  Rick’s high score came at the Knights of St. John in Erie, PA, which is operated by Nick’s Vending.

“These tournaments really get the players excited about competing with each other, and, when there’s more competition, there’s more coin-drop,” said Nick Rocco of Nick’s Vending.

In the Boxxi Prize Tournament, John Reiter of Harrison, OH was the big winner.  John averaged 1,708,980 in Rocktober and took home a prize package worth $1000 for his efforts.  He’s been playing TournaMAXX™ since last November and has done very well in both local and national tournaments.  John says, “I play every month, but Boxxi is my favorite game so I invest more money and time into winning.”  The Cincinnati native is the owner of an independent marketing company and huge fan of the Bengals & Reds.

The second place $500 prize package went to Erika Harvey, who plays at Johnny C’s in Cockeysville, MD.  Erika averaged a score of 1,686,860 on a touchscreen from Modern Amusements.  In third place with a score of 1,677,800 was Nick Gibilisco of Omaha, NE.  Nick’s $300 prize pack came from playing at PJ’s in Omaha, which is operated by NTS.

Bob Mills, Merit’s Vice President of North American Sales said, “We would like to say thank you to all who participated, helping to make this event another great success. Everyone came together to make this Rocktober tournament one of the best ever.”
