MERIT ENTERTAINMENT Merit Increases Bill and Coin Capacity of Aurora

Bensalem, PA - Merit Entertainment announced today that it has expanded both the bill and coin storage capacity of its new Aurora system. This modification comes in response to customer demand for increased cash storage due to the stronger than expected earnings of the Aurora. The Aurora now holds a 700-bill stacker and 629 coins ($157.25 in quarters).

Merit promised operators that it would provide a larger coin box when it began shipping the Aurora earlier this year. "Since the Aurora modifications are now complete, Merit will send out the new larger coin box for every Aurora purchased," said Tom Horne, Merit's Customer Service Director. "We are committed to taking care of our customers and ensuring them the strongest ROI possible on their investment in Merit games."

"With Aurora earnings averaging over 50% more than operators had come to expect from our ION eVo's, increasing the cash handling became a necessity," added Colin Higbie, Merit's Director of Marketing. "With the Aurora's 19-inch screen and player-interactive light show, we have raised the bar in touchscreen gaming. Top-played games like Luxor, Card Bandits, Photo Hunt, and Chug Monkey have a worthy home on the Aurora. We are really pleased with the quantum leap in earnings seen with running the 2007 software on a 19-inch Aurora."

Since Merit had not initially planned to offer a 700-bill stacker, original Aurora units shipped standard with a 500-bill cartridge. Merit has now modified the inside of the Aurora to hold the 700-bill stacker. For units already purchased, operators must provide their own 700-bill cartridge. Merit plans to include the larger stacker with new units going forward.
