NAMED SPRING EXPO GENERAL CHAIRMAN Total Vending Services Co-Owner Will Oversee Show Activities
CHICAGO, IL - Total Vending Services Co-Owner Jamie Edman, NCE, has been named General Chairman for the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) Spring Expo, NAMA Sr. VP & COO Dan Mathews announced today. The NAMA Spring Expo is one of the world's largest trade shows for the vending, coffee services and on-site foodservice industries, and will be held in Las Vegas April 7-8 with educational programming April 6-9.
In announcing Edman as General Chairman Mathews said, “As an NCE designee, it is obvious that Jamie is one of our industry's most accomplished leaders. He's been actively involved in our industry for many years, currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the CAVC and previously as CAVC's president. We are delighted to have his expertise to share with our industry as we finalize plans for this important event.”
Edman graduated in 1978 from Bringham Young University where he was also named as an Honorable Mention All-American Golfer. After spending several years after graduation playing professional golf, Edman joined Basic Vegetable Products as an accountant, and then later served as Vice President of Investments for Dean Witter Reynolds and A.G. Edwards & Sons. In 1988 he became the owner of Total Vending Services with Gene Muzzio, his partner. In 2002 the team purchased Hayes Distributing, a food distribution company catering exclusively to schools, and together they employ 25 employees who run both businesses out of the same warehouse. Jamie and his wife Marsha have three daughters and one son and reside in Fairfield, California.Edman will help officially kick-off the Spring Expo on Wednesday, April 6, with a pre-show seminar, the highly popular Quality Coffee Certification Program (QCCP). The QCCP is geared toward the quality-oriented coffee service operators and helps them learn how to control all factors in the brewing process. This extremely popular program sells out early, so those interested in attending should be sure to sign up soon. The Third Annual NAMA Western Golf Classic to benefit the NAMA Foundation and various educational programs for AAMC, CAVC, CVC, IVC and NAVA will also be held on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the opening session begins at 8:30, “Lead the Way and Your Employees and Customers Will Follow.” At 10 a.m. the trade show floor opens and will include VENDTec: Cashless Vending Systems; Financing Options for the Operator; VENDTec Data Capture & Reporting and the always popular Spring Fling! NAMA Party. On Friday things start with Bottom-Line Booster: Effective Communication and Leadership, followed by The How To's of Linking Sales Compensation and Motivation. The Coffee Service Open Forum begins at 8:30 along with Protection from Internal Theft, Process Improvement and Change Management: Creating a Culture of Controls. The New Member Networking Session will be held at 11 a.m., followed by Hot Topics including Brand Your Vending Operation to Increase Sales and Profits; Chef Demos, and A presentation on ENERGY STAR - The new age of Refrigerated Beverage Vending Machines.
Saturday features the always popular Vending 101; Coffee Service Best Practices, and Managing the Tax Dragon: Selling or Buying a Business on a Tax Efficient Basis. The NCE exam will also be offered on Saturday from 9 a.m. - noon. In addition, “Leveraging New Technology to Grow Your Business,” will help attendees better understand technology, how you can measure the impact of price, cost and how it can enhance the efficiency and profitability of the business.

NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee services and on-site foodservice management industries. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and OCS industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization's founding.
