Remarkable 100% of Exhibitors Are Satisfied with the Quality of Attendees CHICAGO, IL – Exhibitors and attendees alike attending the National Automatic Merchandising Association National and Spring Expos continue to rave about everything from the quality of the attendee to the many new show features according to the results of recent surveys, NAMA Sr. VP & COO Dan Mathews, NCE announced today. The surveys evaluated
the experiences of both operators and exhibitors at the world’s two largest trade shows for the vending, coffee service and foodservice management
industries, and found that an overwhelming number of both groups are more than satisfied with their Expo experience. In discussing surveys Mathews said, “The results are the most powerful evidence we’ve had yet that NAMA Expos deliver to exhibitors and attendees an experience that results in increased sales. For exhibitors, it means that the people coming to the show are the ones making purchasing decisions and signing contracts. For operators, it means it’s the place to be if you want to see new products, machines, services and learn from top quality education programs. We’re thrilled to see such overwhelming support from our industry about their experiences attending these very important industry events.” The next Expo will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada March 23 and 24 with educational programming March 22 – 25. The show floor will be open from 10-5 daily, and educational sessions will be held Thursday and Friday morning prior to the trade show floor opening. The survey looked at the show experiences of both operators and exhibitors, evaluating both their National and Spring Expo experiences. Some of the exact findings for operators reported in the survey include: • 97% of last year’s operator attendees reported on our survey that they approve, specify or recommend purchases. • 91% said the Expo influenced their purchasing decisions. • 89% rated their time spent at the Expo as good or excellent. • 66% buy or place orders at the Expo Some of the specific comments made by operators on the survey include: • “I thought the entire show was great.” • “…every vendor was friendly and knowledgeable about his product.” • “The trade show was awesome…” • “The seminars were quite helpful.” • “The workshop sessions were exceptional.” • “It’s the place to see almost all the products and machinery available for our industry. Looking at the responses from Exhibitor, the survey found: • A massive 100% report they were satisfied with the quality of attendees. • 96% reported they were satisfied with their results at the show, and • 97% were satisfied with the time they invested in the Expo. In responding to the survey the show Exhibitors said: • “Show floor was fresh and exciting.” • “Teaming with the BVA really created traffic and interest…a great idea!” • “We met potential clients we would not have access to otherwise.” • “What I liked best about the show was the number and quality of the attendees.” NAMA Expos have consistently attracted decision makers with 98 percent of attendees responsible for approving, specifying or recommending purchases and 62 percent of show attendees reporting they have final approval for purchases. In addition, exhibitors to the recent National Expo held last fall in Atlanta reported an exceptionally high percentage of qualified prospects visiting their booths. Several exhibitors in the New Exhibitor Pavilion, for example, marveled at the quality of NAMA attendees, saying “Everyone who came by was a prospect! We stand at some shows all day and are lucky to find one or two prospects.” Mathews said that both shows continue to deliver key decision makers. Said Mathews, “The National Expo has always been a not-to-be-missed event, but the Spring show in particular has continued to evolve in a strong way particularly for many operators in the west and northwest, but now many other operators from across the USA attend the Spring Show. This research confirms that if you’re serious about the industry you can’t afford to miss either show.” This year’s Spring Expo kicks off on Wednesday with the fourth annual Western Golf Classic to raise money for educational programs and scholarships and the Quality Coffee Certification Program. During the show, attendees can look for a New Exhibitor Pavilion where they can view everything that is new to this Expo in one location along with a new Buyer’s Corner that will make it easier to locate product or service types. Saturday features the opportunity to sit for the NAMA Certified Executive (NCE) Exam; the Coffee Service Open Forum, Vending 101 and Vending Roundtable discussions. This year’s show will be stronger than ever too thanks to the Better Vendors Association (BVA) and Vendors Purchasing Council (VPC) which are both co-locating meetings at the Expo. Thanks to the arrangement, BVA and VPC members get all the benefits of a NAMA show, and exhibitors benefit from a higher number of show attendees who otherwise would be unable to attend. Concluded Mathews, “This research should convince anyone serious in our industry that they simply can’t miss either one of these shows. If you’re an exhibitor and you don’t participate, your customer base will be visiting with your competition. If you’re an operator, you competitor will be snatching up the latest technology and products while you’re stuck offering outdated ones. And that doesn’t even take into account the exceptional educational offerings and networking opportunities. It’s simply an exceptional opportunity, and we look forward to seeing everyone in Las Vegas.” NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization’s founding.
