NAMA National Automatic Merchandising Association

NAMA NAMES MANDALAY BAY RESORT AND CONVETION CENTER NEW SITE FOR SPRING EXPO

Upscale Resort is Nation’s Fifth Largest Convention Center

Chicago, IL — The National Automatic Merchandising Association’s (NAMA) Spring 2007 Expo will be moving to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Convention Center in Las Vegas from April 11-14,2007 NAMA Sr. VP and COO Dan Mathews, NCE, announced today. The Mandalay Bay Convention Center is the fifth largest convention facility in the United States, and the largest meeting facility located on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip.

“The Mandalay Bay Convention Center is a perfect location for our exhibitors and attendees. It has one million square feet of exhibit space, lots of meeting rooms, 15 world class restaurants and all of the other luxuries you’d expect from a resort of this caliber. We’re thrilled to offer an Expo location that delivers all the traditional convention center benefits and services but also happens to be at one of the city’s most luxurious resorts,” said Mathews.

In addition to almost a million square feet of exhibit space, the center also includes enough space to accommodate more than 75 simultaneous meetings. Mandalay Bay also features the largest pillarless hotel ballroom in the nation, offering more than 100,000 unobstructed square feet of space. The resort also houses three distinct hotels: Mandalay Bay Resort, The Hotel at Mandalay Bay and the Four Seasons; three pools, a sandy beach, Shark Reef, 15 world class restaurants and House of Blues.

Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino provided NAMA with a “Touch of Class” VIP Get-A-Way for a drawing for accommodations for two for three-days, two-nights at the Mandalay Bay hotel, complimentary limousine transportation to and from McCarran International Airport, complimentary in-room welcome amenity, an evening to include dinner at one of the many fine restaurants, and tickets to the Mandalay Bay Theatre featuring “Mamma Mia.” Operators attending the NAMA Spring Fling party in March were eligible to attend, and Kaye Coffel of Coffel Vending in Mishawaka, IND., and Terry Parks of T&L Vending Inc., in Auburn, WA were the winners.

“With all the great amenities under one roof, NAMA exhibitors and attendees should have a very successful show and a wonderful time as well,” said Mathews.

NAMA is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2006. The organization is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization’s founding.
