Swann To Key Note Thursday Morning Chicago, IL – Vending operators across the Southeast will want to mark their calendars for the Southeastern Vending Association’s (SEVA) Convention in August where they will have a historic opportunity to meet Super Bowl football legend Lynn Swann, National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) President and CEO Richard M Geerdes, NCE announced today. Now a candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, Swann has been chair of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports where he worked to promote health and fitness, and his appearance is being sponsored by the industry’s health and fitness initiative Balanced for Life.In discussing Swann’s appearance Geerdes said, “We are delighted to bring football Hall of Famer Lynn Swann to speak to the members of the Southeastern Vending Association because his messages about health and fitness are so important to everyone in our industry.” Swann will kick off the education programs on Thursday morning with his talk on “Fuel to be Fit,” and attendees will have the opportunity to meet and greet Swann afterwards. Thursday afternoon, motivational speaker, management consultant and trainer Lloyd Arnsmeyer, will present “Leadership is an Earned Position.” Arnsmeyer has over 30 years experience in developing educational curriculums that target the needs of management and personnel issues. Lynn Swann’s successful career in the NFL began in 1974. He was named Education programs will continue on Saturday with a discussion panel on industry image, a coffee service open forum and the NCE exam. The convention, which will be held Wednesday through Saturday, Aug. 16-19, offers world class speakers, education programs, network opportunities with friends and business partners and activities for the youngsters. Attendees will want to be available all day on Wednesday to take advantage of the events that will be held in conjunction with Sponsor Day. In discussing the event, SEVA President and 2006 Convention Chair Alan Plaisted said, “The convention will end Saturday morning, but we encourage you to bring your families and stay for the weekend.” The meeting rooms and hotel block are located in Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Resort in Destin, FL, surrounded by specialty merchants, quaint boutique shops, various eateries, and lively night clubs. Social activities not to be missed include Wednesday’s First Annual Sponsor Day where attendees can mix and mingle with major supplier sponsors at their events; Thursday evening’s Paradise Island Luau featuring a roasted pig and tropical feast; and Friday night’s cocktail reception and banquet with a silent auction. On Friday morning, SEVA spouses are invited for brunch at the Magnolia and Ivy Tearoom in the Village of Baytowne Wharf. Spouses are always welcome to attend all other education and social events as well. Children’s Nights Out are also been planned for young children for all three nights.
