NAMA National Automatic Merchandising Association

THE CONSUMER’S VIEW OF VENDING:

Expo Key Note Speaker Dalbec Presents Findings on Vending Industry’s First Consumer Study in Over 10 Years

Chicago, IL – Attendees to the National Automatic Merchandising Association’s National Expo in October interested in learning unprecedented information about the consumer’s view of vending today should be sure to attend the opening session where noted researcher Bill Dalbec will review the vending industry’s first consumer study in more than ten years, NAMA Sr. Director Education and Meeting Services LyNae Schleyer announced today. The trade show will be held Wednesday, Oct 25 through Friday, Oct.27, 2006, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, and Dalbec will address the General Session from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 26.

“Every industry person should attend this session because it will shed insight into the latest data on perceptions, consumer expectations, usage patterns and habits, barriers, pricing, alternative payment methods and awareness to new products. Research of this magnitude is typically out of reach financially for many businesses, but by attending this special session you can learn all the same important insights for free.”

Dalbec’s firm, Harris Interactive, is most widely known for The Harris Poll and for its pioneering leadership in the online market research industry. Dalbec brings 18 years of research and consulting experience to the firm as a leader of the Issues and Industry Associations Research Group. He has managed more than 1,200 quantitative and qualitative research projects in his career and has completed studies nationwide, ranging in scope from community focus groups to national surveys.

“The survey is a result of a NAMA-sponsored study, the first comprehensive vending consumer research project in over 10 years,” added Schleyer.

Previous attendees agree that the NAMA National Expo is a “must go” show. Each year more than 300 exhibitors and 5,000 attendees worldwide participate. It is the largest vending, coffee service and foodservice management exposition. It is the one place where you can network with colleagues, find an impressive array of new products and equipment, the hottest technology and service, educational sessions, and get an excellent snapshot of short- and long-term industry opportunities.

In addition to the General Session where Dalbec will be the prominent speaker, Expo Highlights include:

• Golf outing, 12:30 p.m. shotgun start Tuesday
• Updated and Expanded Quality Coffee Certification Program, Wednesday
• 16 exhibit hours: 3-7 p.m. Wednesday; 5:30-7 p.m., opening reception on exhibit floor; 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Thursday; and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday.
• A redesigned Business Attire Industry Awards Banquet moved to Thursday, 6-10 p.m.
• New Supervisor Development Program, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon
• Saturday and Sunday free to visit the many tourist locations or spend time at home with the family.

It’s not too early to sign up for the NAMA National Expo and plan your Orlando visit. Go to www/namaexpo.org for more information. Once there, be sure to look for discount travel attraction tickets you can purchase online.

“For all of us in the vending business, the NAMA trade show is a must,” concluded Schleyer “and I look forward to seeing everyone in Orlando.”

NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization’s founding.
