Southeastern Vending Operators Hear Swann Discuss Importance of Balanced For Life Campaign CHICAGO, IL – Pro Football Hall of Famer Lynn Swann appeared at the Southeastern Vending Association’s annual convention in Destin, Florida on August 17, 2006, where scores of vending and OCS operators and suppliers heard him discuss the importance of NAMA’s Balanced For Life campaign, NAMA President and CEO Richard M. Geerdes, NCE announced today. Swann had previously helped to kick off the campaign in January 2005.
In discussing Swann’s appearance, Geerdes said, “Lynn Swann is a wonderful example to all of us parents and children alike; his contribution to the sports world is well-known, but his promotion of the importance of a balanced diet and plenty of physical exercise is just the message of NAMA’s Balanced For Life campaign, and we were honored to have him speak at the Southeastern Vending Association’s annual convention.” Geerdes added, “We in the vending industry recognize the importance of teaching young people and adults about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It’s great to hear someone of Swann’s stature remind us about some common sense approaches to activity and balanced diets.” The SEVA convention hosted approximately 250 vending and OCS operators and suppliers from throughout the southeastern United States. It featured a variety of programs specific to the industry, including improving the image of vending Balanced for Life is NAMA’s health and wellness initiative is designed to help address the nation’s rising obesity rates by communicating messages about the importance of a balanced diet and physical exercise.
