NAMA Nominating Committee Discussing Succession Issue CHICAGO, IL – National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) Senior Vice Chairman of the NAMA Board of Directors Richard Wyckoff, NCE, has resigned his seat on the NAMA Board after leaving his employment with ARAMARK, NAMA President & CEO Richard M. Geerdes, NCE announced today. NAMA is currently working with Corporate Counsel, Howe & Hutton and the NAMA Board Officers Nominating Committee to handle the succession issue.In announcing the Board resignation Geerdes said, “Obviously, we wish Richard well with whatever steps come next and his leadership will be missed. During the six years he served on the Board he made a valuable contribution to our industry, particularly his commitment and dedication leading the industry’s Balanced for Life campaign.” Wyckoff’s resignation from ARAMARK is effective October 1 and is the result of the company going private. He will be providing strategic consulting to packaged goods companies, equipment manufacturers and allied suppliers, helping them to identify opportunities for building their brands and expanding operations to improve profits. Coca-Cola’s James H. Terry, NCE currently serves as NAMA Chairman of the Board of Directors. Other officers include Evergreen Food Services, Inc.’s Vice Chairman James F. Brinton, NCE, and ProStar Services, Inc.’s Randall Parks, NCE who serves as Secretary Treasurer. Wyckoff, who would have served as NAMA Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2007, has also served as Chairman of the Balanced for Life Committee. In discussing his decision to resign his position on the Board Wyckoff said, “It is with mixed feelings that I resign my position on the NAMA Board because I very much wanted to fulfill my commitment to the industry. However, once I made the decision to leave ARAMARK I could no longer accurately fulfill the operator requirement that my Board seat required, and decided it was best that I step aside.” During his six years on the NAMA Board of Directors, Wyckoff held numerous positions including Secretary Treasurer, Vice Chairman, and Senior Vice Chairman. He also chaired the Finance and Audit Committee and led the industry’s national health and wellness initiative, Balanced for Life. As an industry consultant, Wyckoff will tap into his broad base of industry knowledge to help packaged goods companies, equipment manufacturers, and allied suppliers. pinpoint trends, find new ways to grow their brands and increase profitability. Concluded Geerdes, “We are very fortunate to have a wealth of experienced and dedicated professionals who are committed to advancing the industry’s most important issues. Right now we are working to identify the best strategy and leaders who can build on NAMA’s success and continue to push the organization forward, and we look forward to announcing the new leaders of NAMA soon.” NAMA is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2006. The organization is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization’s founding.
