Program Launched in 1992; Today Poised at $999,874 Chicago IL., - The National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA), is poised to break the one million dollar mark of financial support sent back to its affiliated State Councils, NAMA Sr. VP and Chief Counsel Tom McMahon, NCE announced today. Through the program each State Council receives a percentage of a funding pool based on the percentage of NAMA operator members in their respective state(s).In discussing the State Council Support Program McMahon said, “NAMA is thrilled about this important milestone we are about to reach because it demonstrates our commitment to helping our State Councils thrive. We realize that by working closely with our State Councils and helping them stay strong we can all benefit by creating an industry that thrives and pushes us all forward.” Launched in 1992 the State Council Support Program delivers financial support to affiliated State Councils based on a “funding pool” which is established by taking up to 3.5% of total NAMA dues received by May 31, 2006. Each state council receives a percentage of the pool based on the percentage of NAMA operator members in their respective state(s) as of May 31, 2006. The program payments do not apply to trial members, sole proprietors, special discount dues payers, or any other operator not a full dues paying member of NAMA on May 31, 2006. In order to receive payment, the state council must have remained in full compliance with its NAMA charter and all directors and officers must be full dues paying member of NAMA. NAMA’s Sr. VP and COO Dan Mathews, NCE added, “It’s great that the State Councils support NAMA as well. Just since we launched our Endowing the Future Campaign the State Councils have contributed close to $200,000 to support this important initiative.” Endowing the Future was created to support education and research projects, along with the industry’s health and wellness initiative, Balanced for Life. Concluded McMahon, “We believe that the more we can support our State Councils the more we will help everyone in our industry succeed, which is why we are delighted to make this payment that will help our State Councils stay strong.” NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization’s founding.
