NAMA Members Get Help With Day-to-Day Operations Chicago, IL — The National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) Internship Program is an excellent opportunity to get help with day-to-day operations while mentoring bright college students majoring in hospitality, vending or food marketing at NAMA University Partner schools, announced NAMA Senior Director, Education and Meeting Services LyNae Schleyer CMP. “Many employers look for outstanding candidates that have on-the-job training along with their college education and this is an excellent way for an employer to get additional help while providing an intern with a high level of support and orientation to management responsibilities,” said Schleyer. The interns will come from any one of the NAMA Partner schools: Georgia State University, Michigan State University, University of Las Vegas, St. Joseph’s University or Washington State University, where the best curriculums on hospitality programs are offered. The faculty and students at these schools share a remarkable work ethic that applies the rewards of outstanding higher education to the business of hospitality, said Schleyer. A valid internship opportunity is at least 40 hours per week, lasts 12 to 16 consecutive weeks and is usually a paid position. Applications will be sent to the universities of your choice, and your request will be listed in the data bank the students use to review placement opportunities. Students may intern at just one location during their summer breaks or during the semester, if appropriate. They are responsible for their own housing and transportation. “This is a win-win chance for employers and bright college students,” said Schleyer. For an application or additional information, please contact NAMA at 312-346-0370, ext. 253 or visit the Job Bank site at www.vending.org. This offer is open to all NAMA member companies with 25 or more employees. NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization’s founding.Jan. 2, 2007 |
