Mitchell, Oppenheim, Schroder Fill 3 Board Seats Chicago, IL – The National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) Board of Directors at its recent meeting selected Craig Hesch NCE, as Secretary-Treasurer, and appointed John W. Mitchell, Jr., Michael Oppenheim and Anthony J. Schroder to fill three vacant Board seats NAMA President and CEO Richard Geerdes NCE, announced today. “The NAMA Board meeting was a very good one, with much ground covered, decisions made and directions identified. We are very pleased with our new Secretary-Treasurer and Board members and look forward to their contributions as we move forward,” said Geerdes. Hesch is Chief Financial Officer with A.H. Management Group Inc., in Rolling Meadows, IL. After graduating with a BS degree in business administration from Drake University, he entered the family business where he has remained for 27 years. A Director of the Illinois Automatic Merchandising Council, he has also served as President, and is Co-chair of the Illinois Political Action Committee. Hesch is a Director of the AIDS Support Coalition of McHenry County, and Vice President of Marian Central High School Alumni Association. He and his wife Alice have two children, Linda and Donna. Mitchell is President of Treat America Food Services in Kansas City, MO, a position he has held for 10 years. During his tenure as President, Treat America has grown from a four-route vending company to a fully integrated food management company, providing services to thousands of customers in eight states. Mitchell earned BA and a Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Kansas. He is president of VMI, a group selling organization. He has served as president of the Mid-America Automatic Merchandisers Association and the Kansas Automatic Merchandisers Association. Mitchell has also recently served on the Board of Directors of The Family Conservancy, a charitable organization whose mission is to provide assistance to families in crisis, and also on the Board of Directors of CORO, a leadership development program. Mitchell is an alumnus of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Centurions Leadership Training Program, In 2004, Ingram’s magazine named him to its “40 Under 40” list of high-achieving individuals under the age of 40. Mitchell is married and has two young children. Michael J. Oppenheim leads ARAMARK’s Refreshment Services Business as Executive Vice President, a position he has held since March 2005. He was formerly Region Vice President for the East Region of Refreshment Services. ARAMARK’s Refreshment Services business is a leader in the vending and coffee services industry providing yearly more than one billion cups of coffee, 200 million cold beverage servings and 100 million snacks a year for business and industry clients at 100,000 locations through North America. Oppenheim earned BS and MS degrees in Business Management from the University of Tampa. Prior to joining ARAMARK, he spent 13 years at GE Capital, most recently as Region Vice President. Anthony J. Schroder is Group Vice President responsible for sales and marketing for Vending, Convenience Stores and Warehouse Clubs for Pierre Foods in Cincinnati, OH. He hails from a long tradition of working in the foodservice industry with both his grandfather and father in the food brokerage business. During his 16 years with Pierre, he has served in various positions from production supervisor, sales manager and national sales manager for the firm’s vending business to his current position. Schroder has a BS degree from Northern Kentucky University. He is serves on the Financial Board for Wellspring Community Church in liberty Township, OH. Schroder and his wife Kelly have four children—Alexandria, Megan, Anthony and Collin. Concluded Geerdes, “These men are true leaders who have a strong desire to see the industry succeed. There’s no question that their contributions to us all will be tremendous.” NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies.
