FOOD NETWORK FEATURE UPDATE:
|
“The Secret Life Of” Vending Episode Planned for Spring/Summer Release;
Network Broadcasts to 85 Million Households
CHICAGO, IL – Producers from The Food Network’s popular show “The Secret Life Of” have confirmed that they are currently in edit for an up coming episode featuring vending that will air late spring or early summer, NAMA President and CEO Richard M. Geerdes, NCE said today. The Food Network airs some of the most popular programs on television today and reaches approximately 85 million households.
A team of network producers spent the day taping at the recent National Expo in Orlando, and that footage will comprise a substantial portion of the episode. In addition to the Expo, producers who are editing the episode say they are also planning to include a segment on vending in Japan and a look at the history of vending. The episode will cover the wide array of ‘better for you’ products currently available in vending machines as well.
In discussing the episode Geerdes said, “Members of our industry should be excited about this episode because it will go a long way toward changing the way people view our industry. Most people have no conception about the advances our industry has made over the past decade or the wide array of products that are available from vending machines today. This feature on our industry will reach almost a hundred million viewers who will have the opportunity to see a new side to vending.”
Distributed to more than 85 million U.S. households and five million website users, Food Network ranks first among ad-supported cable networks on year-to year subscriber growth and first among food websites. Food Network (www.foodnetwork.com) is a unique lifestyle network and website that strives to surprise and engage its viewers with likable hosts, personalities, and the variety of things they do with food.
Concluded Geerdes, “Stay tuned for more information about when the show will be airing in your hometown. The producers of the show have promised to let us know the final broadcast date and we’ll be sure to pass along the information to our members as well.”
NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization’s founding.
