NAMA National Automatic Merchandising Association

ELLIS APPOINTED TO THREE NAMA COMMITTEES & FOUNDATION BOARD

Crane Company Leader Lends His Expertise To Help Guide Trade Association

Chicago, IL—Brad Ellis, NCE, CEO of Crane Merchandising Systems in Bridgeton, MO, has been appointed to serve on the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) Executive, Finance and Retirement committees, NAMA President and CEO Richard M. Geerdes, NCE, announced today.

“We value Brad’s expertise and are delighted that he is able to serve on these committees, which are established by Board directive,” said Geerdes.

Ellis, who has a BS in Marketing and Finance from Haas School of Business at University of California at Berkeley, has been with Crane since 1997. Prior to leading Crane Merchandising Systems, he was the leader of Crane’s Operational Excellence initiative which seeks to materially improve the company’s businesses through continuous process improvement of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

Ellis has also been appointed to serve on the NAMA Foundation Board which is independent of NAMA. Funded by grants from industry companies as well as member contributions, it provides public information regarding the vending, coffee service and food services industries, assists in improving the public image of vending, and advances education and research initiatives.

The Executive Committee functions as the Board’s management committee acting with powers delegated to it by the Board. In addition to Ellis, the Executive Committee includes board officers Chairman Jim Terry NCE of Coca Cola North America in Atlanta, GA; Senior Vice Chairman Jim Brinton NCE of Evergreen Vending in Tukwila, WA; Vice Chairman Randy Parks NCE of ProStar Services in Carrollton, TX; and Secretary-Treasurer Craig Hesch NCE of A.H. Management Group in Rolling Meadows, IL.

As a member of the Finance Committee, Ellis will review and advise the president on operating statement, reserve position and investment matters, as well as financial policy and procedures. Members serving with Ellis are CFO and Assistant Secretary-Treasurer Pat Caffarelli, Terry and Brinton.

Serving on the Retirement Committee with Ellis are Terry, Caffarelli, Brinton and Parks. This committee oversees the NAMA pension plan and funding for the employees.

Concluded Geerdes, “NAMA’s policies and programs are established and reviewed by volunteer members who serve on our Board of Directors and Committees. We have an excellent team in place to help us address the issues and concerns affecting us all, and we thank them for their time and service.”

NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization’s founding.
